Caragher's Corner
Good Afternoon GBS Parents/Guardians,
Another week passes with a plethora of learning opportunities...although not a lot of pictures!
Our 5th grade students worked with the Harris Center and explored the different areas around the school. During these journeys they learned about the different plants and animals that are found in and around the school. We appreciate the work that we get to do with the scientists from the Harris Center and the support that they provide to helping engage our students in science during the school year. (Pictures will be in next week's BB.)
Please join me in congratulating our very own Doctor Cullinan who completed her doctorate this week!
Don't forget about tonight's Skate Night from 6:30-8:00!
Sincerely,
Adam Caragher
A Note from Mrs. Gourlay
As part of our social-emotional support initiatives, we are teaching 7th grade students about mental health, and how to seek help if they are worried about themselves or a friend, using a program called SOS Signs of Suicide. The program will be delivered December 3, 4 and 5. It teaches students about this difficult topic and encourages them to seek help. Through the program, students learn to ACT (Acknowledge, Care and Tell) a trusted adult if they are concerned about themselves or a friend. They will watch video clips, participate in a guided discussion, and complete a brief screening tool. We encourage you to visit www.sossignsofsuicide.org/parent for information on warning signs for youth suicide, useful resources, and some of the key messages students will learn. If you have any questions or concerns about your child’s participation in this program, please contact me or our school counselor, Laura Gourlay at lgourlay@conval.edu.

Lost and Found
There are an abundance of clothes that seemed to have been left behind at school already this year. Please encourage your student to take the time to look through the lost and found in the cafe for any articles of clothing, water bottles, or other items that might be theirs!
Given the amount of items, we will need to look for safe homes for these items when we go on Thanksgiving Vacation!
