We have updated our field trip procedures to streamline communication and improve the administrative process for families. Please review the key details below:
One-Time Blanket Permission: Parents provide consent for all field trips during Annual Online Registration, covering the entire academic year (July 1, 2026 – June 30, 2027).
Automatic Opt-In Status: Once online registration is completed, students are automatically opted-in for scheduled field trips.
Managing Specific Trips: Upon receiving notification of an upcoming trip, log into the Infinite Campus Parent Portal and visit the School Store to submit payments or opt out of that specific event.
Strict Deadlines: All payments and opt-out requests must be completed at least two weeks prior to the trip date. For extenuating circumstances, please contact your school secretary promptly.
Mandatory Registration: Completing Annual Online Registration is required for field trip participation. Students with incomplete registrations will not appear in the School Store system.

Reminders
Here’s what the Oshkosh Area School District (OASD) says about students bringing birthday treats to school:
Edible treats (food) are not allowed to be brought in for birthdays under district policy. This applies in elementary schools and is part of the district’s effort to support healthy habits and address food-safety/allergy concerns.
Instead of food treats, students may bring a small, tangible non-food item to share, such as pencils, stickers, or small toys (e.g., glow sticks, erasers). These non-food items are permitted as birthday “treats” for classmates.
Some schools specifically note that teachers will still celebrate birthdays in class (e.g., singing, games, recognition) but no food treats are allowed.
Students at Read receive the gift of a birthday book of their choice from a selection in the office.
Why This Policy? This approach helps support healthy eating habits, minimize food-allergy and safety issues, ensure all students can participate equally, regardless of dietary needs.
