Dear Lemon Crest Families,

Happy Friday, and happy 3-day weekend! We had a great day today - Our school counselor, Ms. T, and I met with all of our Lions today during Grade-Level Gatherings. We reviewed our schoolwide expectations of ROAR, and why following class and school expectations is so important; it helps us work towards our 3 big goals as a school:

1. To Learn

2. To Stay Safe

3. To Have Fun

We talked about how if we are showing ROAR, as well as the importance of leadership and showing integrity, then it creates a school where we can learn, feel safe and have fun. We also talked about kindness and what that means for us as students here at Lemon Crest: helping others, sharing, taking turns, using kind words, calling people by their names (or what they'd like to be called). Ms. T also talked about using the acronym of THINK before you speak, which I've shared below. Overall, it was a great conversation, and I'm excited for an incredible second half of the school year!

Speaking of Kindness, at the end of the month, we'll be celebrating Great Kindness Challenge with a Spirit Week! Check out the image below for more information!

Finally, Lakeside Union School District wants your input!

Have a wonderful and restful 3-day weekend!

Take care,

Jen Price

Contacting Teachers & Principal Price Contacting Teachers & Principal Price

If you have a question or concern about your child, we encourage you to speak with your child's teacher first. Please note that during the instructional day, teachers and staff may not be able to respond to your message, email or call since they are busy doing what they do best: teaching! Your child's teacher will respond to you when they are able. Thank you for understanding!

Contacting Principal Price:

  • Email: jprice@lsusd.net

  • Call the Front Office: (619) 390-2527 - The front office staff will take a message, and Principal Price will call you when she is available

  • In-Person: Call the office so Mrs. Whitehurst or Ms. Madina can help us set up a meeting so I can dedicate time to you!

Many of your questions may be answered in our Lemon Crest Family Handbook A-Z . We ask that all families read this.

Please know that there is a 24-48 hour "grace period" in my response time. When I respond, call or meet with you, I need time to get informed in order to have possible answers to your questions. I am prioritizing getting to know our students so I can support their success and am often not readily available in the office. Thank you for your understanding and support.

This year, our school's theme is Planting Possibility, inspired by the children's book, Curious Garden, written by Peter Brown. Click the link below for a read-aloud of the book by Principal Price!
