Hello Bulldog Families.

Batavia High School students have been busy wrapping up their final full week before our winter break. Since we have four days of school next week, please remind your students that all work needs to be completed before they leave on break as next week is the last week in the grading period.

Next week launches our NHS sponsored Spirit Week! Check out the flyer that’s included in this email for the running themes each day. On Wednesday and Thursday of next week, we will be operating on a flex schedule option. This allows our teachers to have a larger block of time to administer practice AP Exams, complete larger projects, or complete a science lab.

I’m always pleased to share photos of some of the work based learning experiences in which we participate with our students. We believe that all of our students are individuals and seek to provide a variety of learning paths that meet their needs. We hope you enjoy checking out the photos as much as we enjoy hearing the feedback about the experiences from our students.

I hope you all stay safe and warm this weekend.

In service to our Bulldogs.

Hi, Bulldog Families.

This is a reminder that all parents must enter from Old 32 and use the designated drop-off line for morning drop-off. We continue to have parents entering the staff parking lot from Batavia Rd., which creates a significant safety concern for our staff and the seniors assigned to that lot.

Please follow the established traffic pattern and respect this expectation. Vehicles exiting the staff lot while staff and students are walking into the building is extremely dangerous. Your cooperation helps us keep everyone safe. Thank you.

Have a great weekend.

Hello Families,

One more week to go until winter break. Please remind all student drivers to park in their designated/assigned parking spot. If there is a medical need to park closer, or a need to be dropped off closer due to an injury, please let me know.

The weather has not been great the past couple weeks with the cold, rain, and snow. Remind your students to drive safely and leave a few minutes earlier.

Lastly, if you purchase a parking pass for your student online through PaySchools ($20 for 2nd semester), please have them come see me and let me know so I can assign a parking spot. The alternative is to bring a check made out to “Batavia Local Schools.”

Thank you, and have a nice weekend.

Joe Moorehead, Dean of Students

The FAFSA Application is Open!!!!

  • The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for students entering or attending college for the 2026-27 academic year is up and running! Any student that is thinking about attending any type of education/training after high school should complete the FAFSA - technical school, trade school, community college, public university, or private university. The FAFSA is what determines your eligibility for student loans, grants, work-study, and scholarships - thus, it is VERY important that you complete and submit it. Keep in mind, all students are eligible for student loans! We will continue to share information and helpful resources with you and your family as we receive it!

  • The Ohio Department of Higher Education would like to share that the 2026-27 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is available for all families to complete. Families who want to start filling out the FAFSA now can start the process at studentaid.gov.

  • For additional assistance with FAFSA completion, please visit itsforyou.org, and look under the “Looking for FAFSA Help?” section for more information
