Legacy Music Programs:
Important Reminders for Music Programs
Siblings Attending the Concert: If your child has a sibling who would like to attend the concert, please send a message to the sibling's teacher on SeeSaw before the day of the program. We will make an announcement at 8:20 a.m. to send siblings to the gym. They will only be allowed to leave class if the classroom teacher has received your message.
Concert Start Time and Entry: Music concerts begin at 8:30 a.m. Please do not enter the school before 8 a.m., as it can become quite congested. After the 8 a.m. bell, when learners head to class, we will start allowing parents into the gym. You won’t need to sign in, as we’ll have plenty of staff to support and monitor the doors.
*If you arrive after 8:00am for a concert, feel free to park in the bus loop for the concert 😊
Looking forward to seeing you there!
Guidelines for Recess Gear:
Messages and Phone Calls:
State law now prohibits the use of personal electronic devices, including cell phones, smartwatches, etc., during the school day.
Cell phones, smartwatches, and other personal devices that can send and receive messages are
OUT-OF-SITE and OUT-OF-USE from the time the learner enters the building until 2:40pm.
Devices are to be kept in lockers, in their backpacks. Please be aware that the school is not responsible for lost items!
* If a learner is seen using their personal device inside of school, it will be brought to the office for parents to pick-up.
* Staff will also follow these expectations, except when using their devices for work purposes
(ex: posting on SeeSaw)
Your child's teacher will be teaching throughout the day and may not see e-mails or SeeSaw messages.
Please call the office if there is an important message for your child.
Please try to call prior to 1:30pm to ensure we are able to get the message to your child.
Safety Of Our Learners and Staff:
DOORS LOCKED:
All doors are locked during the school day. All visitors must enter through Door #1. Please use the doorbell to call into the office.
CHECK IN AT THE OFFICE:
All parents and visitors must check in the office. Non- staff members are not allowed beyond the office without checking into our Visitor System and receiving a badge. This ensures we know who is in the building interacting with our learners and staff, no matter what time of day. Thank you for your cooperation!
STUDENT OFFICE CHECK OUT PROCEDURES:
- When checking out a learner prior to the end of the school day, a parent/guardian needs to come to the office to check them out. Students will not be released from the building during the school day without an adult checking them out.
- Parents, please keep the office updated with who can and cannot pick up your child.
- If there are court orders, please provide an updated copy to our office as soon as you are able, so our files reflect this as well. Our school staff can and will act only on the most recent official documentation on file in the office.
CODE OF CONDUCT
This Code supports our district's mission of "educating all learners for tomorrow's world" by:
- Fostering a safe, respectful, and welcoming environment
- Setting clear behavioral expectations
- Emphasizing relationships, accountability, and fairness
- Promoting responsible decision making and self-discipline
Arrival and Dismissal Procedures:
Drop Off Reminders
- Once you enter the loop, pull all the way forward until you reach the end of the sidewalk.
- Do NOT exit your vehicle while in the drop- off lane.
- If you need to enter the building, please park in the lot and use the crosswalk to enter the building.
- Do NOT let learners exit the vehicle until you pass by the crosswalk.
- Please have your learners ready to exit the vehicle quickly, as soon as you stop.
- Your learner should exit out the passenger side of the vehicle, closest to the sidewalk.
*Please be mindful that we can NOT have any parking or stopped traffic on 9th Street!
Please place your card in your passenger window when utilizing the parent pick up loop!
If you need an additional window card or have additional names to add, stop in the office or email legacy@west-fargo.k12.nd.us
Message from Nurse Alyssa:
All students with a known medical condition that would require a medication at school should have an Emergency Care Plan and Medication Authorization form on file with Nurse Alyssa. Please review West Fargo Public Schools Medication Administration Policy (ACBD- AP) Medication - West Fargo 6 School District and reach out with any questions on how to start this process.
When sending any prescription or nonprescription medication (including cough drops) to school each year, parents must send:
- Medication Administration Authorization form filled out and signed by parent/guardian. If medication is prescription, a medical provider signature is also required. If a parent/guardian is requesting a dose higher or to be administered differently than the package instructions for an over-the-counter medication, this form must be signed by a medical provider.
- The original labeled container of the medication. For prescription medication, the pharmacist can supply a duplicate labeled container so one can be kept at home and one can be kept at school. Each container should have the phone number of the pharmacy, learner’s name, medical provider’s name, medication name, dosage, time to be given, and route (oral, inhaled, etc).
Please email me any questions at: abonnet@west-fargo.k12.nd.us or call my office at: 701-499-9606
Thank you,
Alyssa Bonnet, BSN, RN
