Eagles Exclamation
August, 2026
PV Eagle Families:
Welcome to the 2026-27 school year! Our team has worked hard throughout the summer to prepare for your student’s arrival. We extend an especially warm welcome to our incoming sixth graders as they spread their wings and join the Eagle family!
Families who were unable to attend the PV Walkthrough on August 5th may visit the school on August 17th from 8:00 to 11:00 a.m. During this time, families can pick up their back-to-school information packet, purchase gym uniforms and/or locks, and pay school fees.
The first day of school for students is Thursday, August 20th. Below are arrival and dismissal procedures linked in this newsletter. Please review the maps below to ensure that you are prepared for the first day. Buses drop off in front of the building by the main doors. Cars dropping off need to wind through the parking lot so they are not passing our buses. The first couple of school days, new students are still figuring it all out, so please be cautious when driving.
Picture Day at Prairie View will be August 27th. Picture retake day will be October 5th.
PLEASE NOTE that our doors will open for arrival this year starting at 8:30 AM. Staff will be out supervising bus and door entrances at this time. Students walking, biking, or being dropped off via car to school will not be able to enter the building until that time.
Open House is scheduled for Monday, August 24th at Prairie View from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm. Your student will bring home a schedule for the evening for you to follow.
We look forward to partnering with our families and making this a wonderful year filled with positivity, learning, and growth. Together, let’s make it a year of Good Vibes and Great Minds!
Please call the Prairie View Office at (708)532-8540 with any questions.
Best regards,
Maura R. Baskovich

Arrival and Dismissal Procedures
Arrival-Cars
If your child is a morning car rider, please note that left turns into the parking lot from 175th Street are not permitted—this entrance is reserved for buses only. Once you enter the lot, make an immediate left and follow the arrows through the designated car line. Drop-off occurs along the front sidewalk, and students should walk to their grade-level entrance from there.
Dismissal-Cars
For afternoon dismissal, car riders should enter the parking lot and follow the arrows through the designated route. Please stop on the painted lines and do not pull forward until all buses have pulled away. Once the buses have left, cars may proceed down the lane in front of the school to pick up students along the front sidewalk.
Walkers
Student walkers are not permitted to use the east side of the building, as there is no adult supervision in that area. Students coming to or from 175th Street from the east should use the east sidewalk to reach their designated grade-level door, while students coming from the west should use the west sidewalk. This also prevents students from walking across the parking lot entrance and exit, where vehicle traffic is heavy during arrival and dismissal.
