Parent Information for Field Day 2025.

Field Day is a fun outdoor activity day for grade K - 4. It is scheduled for Friday, May 29, 2026 from 8:40 - 12:35. The rain date is Monday, June 1, 2026. The event will take place on the lower playground at RES. Volunteers are needed. Please use this link to sign up. Field Day Sign up genius 2026

All grade levels will be given a colored bandana, it would be great if your child could wear a t-shirt that matches the color of the bandana to school that day.

The colors are as follows:

4th pink

3rd dark green

2nd blue

Gr 1 red

K yellow

Field Day Menu Change:

Hot Dog, Watermelon, Celery and Carrot Sticks, and Chips

Parfait and sunbutter sandwiches are still available as well.

If we have a rain out we will run a normal Friday pizza menu- and push this menu to the rain date.

Other things to consider for your child for Field Day are: apply sunscreen and or bug spray at home before school, wear sneakers, pack DRY CLOTHES, and a water bottle with the student's name on it. This is a regular school day. School lunch will be offered or your child can bring home lunch. We will eat outside picnic style.

Our kindergarteners have been learning all about how to care for animals in need—and now they’re turning their compassion into action! As part of our SPCA research project, the children became tiny philanthropists by raising awareness about local animal shelters and organizing a special event: the Walk-4-Paws walk-a-thon around our playground! All the money we raised will go directly to the New Hampshire SPCA to help animals in need. What a huge success our Walk-4-Paws walkathon was! Together with first grade, kindergartners walked over 100 miles (collectively) and raised $3,400!

Thank you so much for your support in helping our children learn the value of giving to others (including animals!) We will give the funds to the NHSPCA when we visit on May 26.

Girls on the Run (GOTR) braved the heat and the rain on Tuesday to hold a lemonade stand! We are proud to share that they raised $250 which will be going to The Chase Home in Portsmouth. The Chase Home is a local non-profit organization that serves to support at-risk youth and their families. For context, each GOTR team is asked to complete a Community Impact Project (CIP) as a culminating part of their season. The girls brainstormed ideas for their CIP as well as voted on which local organization to donate the money to upon completion of the project. This process strengthened their skills in collaboration, perseverance, respectful communication, and community involvement. We are so proud of these girls and their hard work! Additionally, the team is very appreciative of all the RES staff, families, and Rye community members who stopped by the lemonade stand and supported this cause!

LUNCH IN THE CAF LUNCH IN THE CAF

You are welcome to join us in the cafeteria during your child's lunch block! There is no pressure to attend but the door is open to you if you find this works with your schedule. Due to cafeteria space and tables, we invite one family member at a time to have lunch with their child(ren). Lunch is a wonderful time for kids to practice their social skills and build relationships with their peers. We actively monitor these times and encourage student growth and independence while also keeping a focus on fueling their bodies with food! This occasional experience offers you a special time to join your child in their social world at RES.
  • Email resoffice@sau50.org if you would like to attend with the date/time. It is important to anticipate who will be in the building. We love these opportunities for students and their family members but we will always put safety first.
  • Adults must bring their own lunch and can bring lunch for their own child.
  • We do have a focus during this time...eating for energy and brain power!
  • Family members must meet the child in the cafeteria and leave from the cafeteria BEFORE we line up all the children.
  • Days for family visits are Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
  • Lunch times are:
  • Kindergarten-11:45-12:10

    First Grade-12:15-12:40

    Second Grade-12:15-12:40

    Third Grade- 11:15-11:40

    Fourth Grade-11:15-11:40

  • Although we know that June 12 is the last day for our K students, we would like to invite them BACK, if they are available, to attend our end of year assembly on June 18. They can be dropped off in the morning drop off line at 8:30, as to not confuse our bus drivers, and be picked up at 9:15 in the back of the school (regular pick up area). This is not mandatory but they have been absent from this assembly for the last couple of years and it never felt quite right! Please email me if you have questions.
