IVORY SPEECH THERAPY
2025-2026 School Year
OCTOBER NEWS AT IVORY SPEECH THERAPY
LITTLE TRUNKS
Home, daycare and Cheyne Ranch Farm sessions for your little ones🐘
Important Date Changes: If you have sessions typically scheduled for Saturday October 4, I will be out of town presenting for the Media Girlz group via the Girl Scouts near West Palm Beach. Please check your Simple Practice patient portal to see details of any changes, and feel free to reach out to reschedule.
Coordinating Care: Our model is so successful because of the communication and cooperation among teachers, parents and therapist! I am happy to coordinate your child's care, and teachers are overwhelmingly supportive in most cases. Please reach out if you need a connection...there is just a quick release of information form to sign and then we can get going as a team!
THE HERD
Neurodiversity-affirming Group Programming: Amplify, Second-Friday Social Club, Serve Them, Cheyne Ranch Social Club
Second Friday Social Club: Martial Arts at Victory Martial Arts in Oviedo was unbelievable! Our participants hung in there for a 60-minute action-packed class focused on connecting mind and body. And the icing on the cake was being asked by multiple kiddos to go there again soon!!
Serve Them: Vicki Perez and Joyce Schmidt at Young Chef's Academy and Beau-Q Creations helped to kick off one of our best programs yet! Our participants planned, budgeted, prepared and decorated the room to host their parents for an afternoon refreshment on September 19th. Who knew we could work on and progress with so many skills in such a fun and motivating activity. Here's to October ...I wonder what theme and what menu the kids will choose this time!?!
Cheyne Ranch Social Club: Back by popular demand, our original group program includes socializing on the farm. It's great for kids who are learning to interact within groups in a fun, supportive environment with that boost of what I like to call "the equine effect" (horses help to regulate our nervous systems just by being around them!) We are currently full, but I will happily accept interest forms for our waiting list or next sessions.
Amplify: Our public-speaking group is run through Mercy Highway High School and Mephibo's House in Longwood. This month, participants worked on interview skills, greeting skills and beginning presentation skills. They are sounding and looking confident and clear!
Special Tour of Amazon Fulfilment Center - October 27 at noon: We will be touring this facility and completing a lesson after the tour to discuss what we've learned. Respond to this email for information.

Next up: the publication:)
INTRODUCING: WILD HARMONY STUDIO
WHAT: AN INCLUSIVE, NEURODIVERSITY-AFFIRMING OPEN MIC CONCERT
WHEN: Spring 2026
Here's how it will work:
- Kids will sign up to audition with a song they've been working on. Singing or instruments are OK.
- Once students have "auditioned" and been accepted (and we're looking to accept everyone here), they will attend a performance studio class to prepare for their performance in a dress-rehearsal format.
- Shortly after the studio class, we will have a recital open to friends and families of those preforming with a very welcoming and low-key vibe. Snacks and drinks are provided.
- This is a great opportunity for those who are already taking instrument lessons with community teachers!
- Location and exact dates TBD.
