Z Car Club of Colorado
February 2026 Odometer
NATE’Z NOTEZ
Welcome to one of the warmest winters in Colorado in recent memory. Although we have had some chilly days, the sun has been out for most of them. Mark Ingles said they have been getting a lot of snow down in the Springs, but not as much up here in Aurora. I did take the Tesla to the gas station (yes, I did get a few strange looks) to fill a gas can for the snow thrower, but so far I haven’t had to use it. I guess that is a good thing.
By now, all of you should have received the ZCCC survey sent by Cheryle. If you haven’t filled it out yet, please do so soon (or see the anonymous Google Form option below). We've gotten quite a few responses back and are tabulating the results. However, our results won’t be complete without everyone’s completed survey, so please fill it out for the betterment of the ZCCC. One of the main reasons for this survey is to find out why, with approximately 100 members, only 15 -20 show up for Zoom meetings. Everyone can attend via phone, iPad, tablet, laptop, or desktop. This club is about you and your passion for your Z car. Even if you are traveling out of town, you can still put aside an hour on the first Wednesday of every month to join us. We have members in Utah who join us every month.
In the past month, we had a Zoom board meeting, a Zoom general meeting, and an in-person get-together brunch hosted by Wendy Rhyne. It was great to see so many people there.
I would be remiss if I didn’t address the 800-pound gorilla in the room…….it was a great season for the Broncos, and while they didn't get the Championship win, they sure showed the nation that we are a team to contend with. Looking forward to next season. Go Broncos!
Until March, remember to “keep the rubber side down and the shiny side up”.
There is nothing more important than being a club that represents the wants, needs, and interests of our members. This is why we are reaching out to our membership to hear from you to continue and grow our membership. If you have already replied to one of the emails sent to you, there is no need to fill this out. If not, please CLICK HERE to fill out this anonymous Google Form. Thank you so much. -ZCCC Board

Why Datsun Changed Its Name to Nissan
Buying someone a Pre-Owned Z for Valentine’s Day?
Make sure, wherever you buy it, that you have it checked out first by a Nissan professional. We bought our 2011 370Z back in June from a Chevrolet dealership. I insisted on having it checked out, and they had no problem with that.
Where did I take it? To our sponsor… Empire Nissan, of course. I called, and they got it right in. I waited while they checked it out. It only took about 2 hours (I had a few delicious cappuccinos while there). They gave me a clean bill of health. Obviously, if they found something, I would have used it as negotiating leverage to get a better price.
Remember to let them know you are a member of the Z Car Club of Colorado, and they will apply your discount. Expect it to be between $200 and $250. It gave me great peace of mind that I wasn’t getting a lemon.
While I waited, I spoke with their Finance manager about getting an extended warranty. We don’t get a discount on this product, but I believe I got an excellent value, giving me full protection for 60 months/60,000 miles with a $0 deductible if serviced at Empire.
So, get your loved one a fully inspected Z with coverage in case something goes wrong, and you’ll be happy you did.
