Its Parent Survey Time!
Each year we ask every family to fill out this parent survey to help our school celebrate what is going well, and improve areas that need our attention. This survey helps us do that. Please click on the link below. http://survey.5-essentials.org/illinois/survey/parent/
KINDERGARTEN REGISTRATION is ONGOING FOR 2026/2027. PLEASE REGISTER ASAP!
Please fill out an intake form to get the registration process started. The link for the "New Student Intake form" can be found on the D303 website on the registration page.
What is my child learning about in STEM?
Academically Talented (AT) Student Identification
Parents will be notified by email by Monday, March 9, if their student has been identified for AT math, Accelerated math (6th grade only), or AT ELA. Families have the opportunity to appeal their childโs placement decision. Families can appeal for AT/Accelerated/Infinity placement by completing this form by May 1, 2026. Recommending a student for further review will not guarantee their placement, but it will prompt a comprehensive review that may/may not include classroom performance reviews and additional testing. More Information about AT pathways is available on the D303 website. Please contact tina.king@d303.org with additional questions.

Erins Law Lessons
DearAnderson School Families,
This letter is to inform you about Erinโs Law (Illinois Public Act 097-1147), an Illinois law passed in February, 2011 that requires public schools to provide child sexual abuse prevention education for all children in pre-kindergarten through twelfth grades. Named after sexual abuse survivor Erin Merryn, Erinโs Law will be implemented again this year in all District 303 Schools. Please note that Erinโs Law is not connected to The Keeping Youth Safe & Healthy Act (Senate Bill 818).
Between now and the end of the school year, several lessons will be facilitated by our school social workers and school psychologists, along with the classroom teacher utilizing the Second Step Child Protection Unit . This age-appropriate instruction will help students recognize unsafe situations, keep themselves safe, and learn how to respond to unsafe situations. Common themes across all grade levels include:
Identifying safe touch versus unsafe or unwanted touch
The Safety Rule About Touching (The Touching Rule): Private areas are not for others to touch, except to keep a child clean and healthy
Steps to Stay Safe
Understanding the difference between good and bad secret
For more information about Erinโs Law, please visit the links below.
