π K-4 is AMAZING π
CCSL Elementary Can't Be Beat!
Happy FriYAY Wolves! We hope everyone enjoyed those warm "summer" days but also enjoying the calm that tends to come with fall weather! We are so excited to report that we are seeing so many amazing things happening in and out of the classroom! From hard work, to friendships, our students have no limits to their greatness. It is crazy to think it is only October! We cannot wait to see all the amazing achievements they accomplish throughout the rest of the year!
π‘Students in the Spotlightπ‘
Worcester State Winners!
This year our fabulous fourth graders have partnered with colleges and they are loving it! This week, Ms Gallella's class was sent some very cozy swag from Worcester State to give to three lucky winning students! Congrats to Sonaya, Knyaz, and Renzo for being the winners and walking away looking Worcester State proud!
πΊ W.O.L.F Pride πΊ
Looking for the GOOD Always!!
We are another a month into looking for students who are being a W.O.L.F (Working Responsibly, Owning Our Choices, Loving Learning, Friendship). It is starting to look like we will have to decorate the whole hallway with the number of WOLF notes our students are earning. They are even shouting out one another and their teachers! Congrats to all our surprise shoutouts this week and a huge thanks to Cayden and Renzo for being our WOLF Reporters and sharing the shoutouts on the loudspeaker for the whole school!
πAttendance Superstars! π
Congrats To Our Winners!
After a few weeks with no winners, we are THRILLED to announce that we had four winners this week for Perfect Attendance!!!!! Congratulations to KGA, 1B, 3B and 4B for keeping your absences low and your love of learning high! These lucky four classes get to hold the attendance trophy for the week and have their perfect attendance super star hanging on their door for all classes to see! We can't wait to see if they will keep the trophies next week or if some new classes will win!!
π« Student Handbook π«
A Review of Policies and Procedures
Please take some time to review the student handbook for grades K-4. We will ask you to sign off on this when logging into PowerSchool to access your student's grades.
π Dismissal Reminders π
A Few Reminders to Help Keep Everyone Safe
Our goal is to always make sure dismissal runs smoothly and safely.
- ALL Parent Pickup cars should be in the pickup lane (Right-hand drive, closest to the school)
- There should be no cars in the bus lane or parked in parking spots to pick up students
- All cars must pull up to the sidewalk to get students. Students will not be allowed to cross into traffic.
- All parents should remain in their cars to keep the flow of traffic moving
- Students will enter cars through the rear passenger side door.
If you need to change how your student is going home for a day, it needs to go through the front office by 2:00!
Students will also not be able to be dismissed after 3:00. If you need to pull your kiddo out early for an appointment please make sure it is before 3:00 and that the front office is notified earlier in the day.
π Standards Based Grading π
This year we will be shifting to Standards Based Report Cards
A new standards-based report card format will be introduced in grades K-4 in the 2025-2026 school year. While parents and students in grades K-4 will continue to view report cards through Power School, the format will look different. Students in grades 3-4 will continue to receive a letter grade for each subject, but will also be assessed using state standards for each subject area, including specials. Kindergarteners will continue to be assessed using only standards. Teachers will assess students using the state standards to insure clarity and consistency in expectations across classroom and grade levels. The standards-based design will allow more detailed feedback aligned with specific learning goals for each of the subjects, thereby aiding parents, students, teachers and administrators to focus on growth and areas needing additional support.
