A Message from the Principal
Hello Falcon Family!
We have enjoyed the last couple of weeks with students in the building. They grew so much over the summer! Yikes! We are excited to see how much each one of your children learns and grows this year.
Thank you to all of our Falcon Families for being patient with us as we continue to improve our arrival and dismissal process. We received feedback last year about improving the dismissal car line and have systems in place to make this happen. To decrease the time it takes students to be placed in cars AND the time our staff are standing in 100+ defree temperatures, please pull forward to the east parking lot to buckle children in car/ booster seats. Thank you for your help with this. We are better together!
This year, to increase student safety, we are HIGHLY encouraging students to wear tennis shoes to P.E. We have included the P.E. schedule for each class below (near the bottom of the newsletter) so that you will know when your child has P.E. each week. If your child has an old pair of tennis shoes, they are welcome to leave them in their backpack or cubby at school. If your child does not have tennis shoes, please let me know. We may be able to help.
Please read below for information about upcoming events, great things happening on campus, and other important information.
As always, if you have any questions, concerns, or feedback, please reach out to me at jbovan@ldisd.net or call the school between 8 AM and 4 PM Monday through Friday. We are here to help!
Thank you,
Jessica Bovan

What's Coming Up?
MAP Testing
The week of August 26 and September 3rd, Corinth Elementary will be conducting our fall MAP assessment. Students in kindergarten through fifth grade will take both a reading and math assessment. These assessments are given to better understand each student's instructional level and to measure academic growth throughout the school year and from year to year.
Please help your student arrive on time on their MAP testing days (see above) to ensure they receive the optimal testing experience. (Remember, the instructional day begins at 7:40 am.) Arriving late to a quiet room full of students that are already testing can be unsettling for everyone.
Thank you for helping us to put Falcons first!
Big Kahuna Fundraiser
Our school-wide Big Kahuna Fundraiser kick-off is on Wednesday, September 4th. Order forms will be coming home soon and will be due on Monday, September 23rd.
Items will be delivered to Corinth Elementary on Monday, October 7th from 2:00-5:00 pm.

Purchase Labels for Your Child's Items
Last year, our Lost & Found was FILLED with jackets, sweatshirts, water bottles, lunch boxes, and any other items that students often misplaced. We did our best to check labels and return items to students, but most of the items were not labelled. We are asking that you LABEL all of your child's jackets, sweatshirts, water bottles, lunchboxes, backpacks, etc. this year. To help with this, we have found a fundraiser, Mabel's Labels, that sells LABELS! This is a great way to support our school while setting your child up to keep up with their items! There will even be labels with our CE logo! The fundraiser is on-going. You can order anytime throughout the year, but what better time than back-to-school!
If you’re not familiar with Mabel’s Labels, they are personalized, durable, waterproof labels. They are great for everything from shoes, clothing tags, waterbottles and backpacks. You can customize them with your name and a design, and they are dishwasher, laundry and microwave safe. Mabel’s Labels also offers clothing stamps, silicone bands for water bottles and medical alert labels. This is a great way to ensure your items don’t end up in the lost & found or mixed up.
To support our fundraiser, visit campaigns.mabelslabels.com and select Corinth Elementay. You can pick out whatever labels or product you want, and it will ship for free directly to your house! Thank you for supporting us!

Lake Dallas ISD has some exciting news! During the 2024-2025 school year, all students at Lake Dallas Elementary, Corinth Elementary, and Shady Shores Elementary will receive free breakfast and lunch thanks to the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP).
The CEP allows us to offer meals at no cost to every student, no matter their eligibility for free or reduced lunch. This program is based on a specific percentage of students enrolled in SNAP, TANF or Medicaid, and our schools have met the required 25% ISP to qualify.
DID YOU KNOW that submitting your application for the National School Lunch Program can do MORE than just provide access to free and reduced-price school meals? Qualification under NSLP may also mean you are eligible for:
Pandemic EBT Benefits
Increased School Funding
Reduced Registration fees for AP, SAT, and ACT testing
Discounted rates associated with college applications
Discounted rates on Internet services
We’re confident that this initiative will help ease financial stress for families, boost student attendance, and improve participation in school meals, ultimately supporting our students' well-being and academic success.
Health Service Update
If your student needs ANY medication, including over-the-counter medications, nursing staff will require a physician, podiatrist, or dentist authorization in order to administer the medication in accordance with the Texas Board of Nursing licensing standards. This includes common items, such as Tylenol, Ibuprofen, etc. All prescriptions must be in a prescription bottle with current prescription date and have student name, dosage, and frequency. All other medicines shall be presented in the original container with physician’s order.
Our nurses will need corresponding documentation prior to administering any of the medications named above or other OTC medications. If your doctor does not have the updated medication authorization forms, please reference the links below to provide to your doctor/pediatrician:
