Superintendent's Message
Dear Frankfort School District 157-C Community,
The success we are experiencing this school year is a direct result of the collaboration, support, and trust you place in our schools, our staff, and most importantly, in your children. We look forward to seeing many of you during Parent/Teacher Conferences. These meetings serve as an important opportunity to strengthen the home–school connection, celebrate student growth, and plan together for continued success in the months ahead.
This past month has also reminded us that changing weather can impact our ability to operate safely. Throughout the winter months, our District administrators carefully monitor conditions to ensure the safety of everyone traveling to and from our three buildings.
This year, we are again prepared to implement our E-learning plan should inclement weather make it safer for students and staff to remain at home. E-learning days allow us to maintain instructional continuity through District-issued devices and digital platforms, ensuring learning continues while keeping our school calendar on track. We are committed to providing families with as much notice as possible. In the event an E-learning day is needed, the District will communicate clearly and well in advance. When making weather-related decisions, we rely on information and guidance from the Chicago National Weather Service, including forecasts and data on snowfall, wind chill, temperature, and road conditions.
Thank you again for your continued partnership, support, and engagement in our schools. We are proud of the strong start to this year and look forward to building on this momentum together.
Wishing you and your family a safe, restful, and enjoyable Thanksgiving break.
Sincerely,
Doug Wernet, Ed.D.
Frankfort School District 157-C Superintendent

Virtual Backpack
Frankfort School District 157-C utilizes a more environmentally friendly and efficient method for sharing information. Flyers, posters, and media from district schools, non-profit organizations, intergovernmental agencies, and approved business partners are available on our "Virtual Backpack" webpage. This approach replaces the traditional practice of sending materials home via students' backpack mail, ensuring easier access and reduced paper waste.
