Wildcat Weekly- 3/30-4/3

Message from Principal Martinez 🐾
Dear Wildcat Families:
As we head into our final week before Spring Break, there is a wonderful sense of excitement on campus! Our students have been working hard, and this week is a special time to celebrate their efforts while continuing to stay focused, engaged, and connected as a school community.
You may notice a little extra energy in the air—and we are embracing it with meaningful learning, fun classroom activities, and opportunities for students to reflect on all they’ve accomplished so far this year. We are looking forward to a strong and joyful finish before everyone enjoys a well-deserved break.
As the weather continues to be warm, we kindly ask for your support in reinforcing our school dress code, especially when it comes to safe footwear. For the safety of all students during recess, PE, and daily movement around campus, please ensure your child wears:
Closed-toe shoes
Secure, well-fitting footwear (tennis shoes or athletic shoes are best)
Shoes that allow for safe running and play
Please avoid sandals, flip-flops, slides, or backless shoes, as these can increase the risk of trips, falls, and injuries during active times of the day.
We also encourage students to continue bringing water bottles, dressing comfortably for the weather so they can fully enjoy this exciting week.
Thank you for your continued partnership and support. We are grateful for our incredible community and look forward to a fantastic week together ending with our Friday Flag!
Go Wildcats!

Local Author Visit at Pomerado
Our first grade classrooms enjoyed a special visit from local authors (Andrew & Mary Ly), bringing an exciting and memorable experience to our students! They not only listened to the author read the fun story My Unicorn Eats Fried Chicken, but also had the chance to meet Boba the Unicorn in person—definitely a highlight of the day.
Students asked great questions about the writing process and what it’s like to be an author, making the visit both engaging and inspiring. They especially loved that the story is based on real brothers from our neighboring Creekside School, adding a meaningful local connection.
It was a wonderful visit that sparked curiosity, creativity, and a love of storytelling—check out the photos below to see the fun!
Join our Pomerado Team
Just a reminder.... as part of autism awareness month, Pomerado will be participating in the Race for Autism SUPERHERO 5K and One Mile Family Fun Walk on Saturday April 11th. We would love for Pomerado Families to participate in any way that brings them joy. We will accept donations to the Pomerado Wildcat Team page (link below) or even individual participants. We would also love to walk with you on Saturday April 11th in Balboa Park so if that feels like a fun way to participate, the more the merrier. Every dollar raised goes directly to support autism programs and services that are making a difference for those with autism. Thank you in advance for being a SUPERHERO for autism!
Continuing Student Registration
Online Continuing Student Registration will be open until March 31, 2026. We MUST receive a completed digital packet for all returning students. This will allow for proper placement of your student for the 2026-2027 school year. This annual digital process allows a family to complete one single “family” packet instead of completing one packet per student. Packets can be completed using any computer, tablet or smartphone with an internet connection.
New this year, we will also require a packet to be completed for all students LEAVING the district. This will be a quick process, but needs to be completed through the portal.
Continuing Registration Steps:
Login and complete the digital registration packet via the online registration portal found here.
Review and complete any required forms located at the conclusion of the process. A packet is not considered finalized until this step is completed.
Please note: MEDICATION FORMS or ADDITIONAL SIGNED SITE SPECIFIC FORMS WILL NOT BE COLLECTED UNTIL SCHOOL BEGINS IN AUGUST FOR THE 2026-2027 SCHOOL YEAR.
