Clarendon Avenue Elementary School
October 23, 2026 Newsletter
Hi Families,
Please take a moment to watch the short video above! On behalf of Clarendon Avenue Elementary, thank you for your participation, generosity, and partnership during our Glow Run fundraiser. As our one and only fundraiser of the year, your support makes such a difference for our students and school community. We are so grateful for the way our CES families show up and help make great things possible for our Cougars.
AM Arrival - When dropping off at the curb, please help our traffic flow by pulling all the way up to the furthest empty spot. This allows us to get cars through as quickly as possible.
Heads up for next week:
- Monday - Holiday Mash Up Dress Day. Glow Run Incentive - spirit day decided by Mrs. Delaney's class.
- Tuesday - PJ Day. Please wear shoes - we will go outside, slippers are not enough.
- Wednesday - Early Release (two hours early - students are dismissed at 1:35pm). We will celebrate Halloween at school. Students are able to change into their costumes for the parade, but please leave the accessories at home - no blood, guts, swords, etc. for school costumes.
- Thursday - No school for students. Staff will engage in a full day of professional development.
- Friday - No school for students or staff.
On behalf of the staff at Clarendon, we are honored to work with you and your children everyday. We are so glad they—and you—are part of Clarendon!
Go Cougars! 💙💛

Avoid Hawks Ridge Subdivision to make a U-Turn!
East Veterans Way Traffic: In recent weeks, the Mukwonago Police Department (MPD) and the Mukwonago Area School District have received complaints from residents in the Hawks Ridge subdivision about school district traffic using their private driveways. Mainly, this traffic is departing from Park View Middle School or Clarendon Avenue Elementary, exiting east on Veterans Way, turning left into the condo complex, and proceeding back west.
District families are reminded that those roads are private driveways and should not be used to avoid the no left turns that are currently in place at the exits to both schools. MPD will continue to patrol these areas before and after school to monitor this situation. Don't get a ticket!
Instead, traffic should turn right on Clarendon Avenue and proceed south to turn right on Lincoln Avenue or Oakland Avenue. Please see the graphic below.
Please read the information included in the above tab regarding road work scheduled to begin in late September. Roads you use to come to Clarendon Ave. Elementary School could be affected.

A Message from CES Health Room
If your child is missing any required vaccinations or if the school does not have your child’s updated records on file, our health office has likely already attempted to reach out to you via phone, email, or letter.
Please take a moment to double-check your child's records. If you have received a notification from CES, or if you know your child is due for a vaccine or vaccine booster, please connect with your pediatrician or local health clinic as soon as possible. Once completed, please remember to send a copy of the updated immunization record directly to the school health room.
We respect your personal choices and privacy regarding vaccines. If you have not yet gotten your child vaccinated for any reason (even if it is scheduled), please see “step 4” on the attached form Immunization Record. Please fill it out, sign it, and send it back to school so we can update our records. Thank you for your help.
The Cougar Code!
At Clarendon Avenue Elementary, we follow the Cougar Code! This is part of our PBIS system that takes a proactive approach to teaching routines and expectations to children in an aligned and consistent building model.
During the first week of school, all students will learn HOW to show the Cougar Code (which is being respectful, responsible, and safe) in all areas of the school. After week one, we will continue to repeat and practice these expectations until they become habit.
See more about the expectations in the picture provided! Let us know if you have any questions!
More about PBIS!
Below, you can find more information about our PBIS (Positive Behavioral Intervention and Supports) model. The screenshots can be found below as well as a PDF you could open and/or print if preferred.
Parent Notification for Minor Health Room Visits
New this year, parents will receive an automatic notification via Infinite Campus Messenger when their child is in the health room at some point during the school day. Parents will not be notified if this is a scheduled medication or treatment.
However, parents will still be called if your child receives a head bump, major injury, is too sick to remain in school, or has an urgent need. For reasons your child may be too sick to remain in school, please check out this Too Sick for School document from the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction.
As always please contact the CES health room with any questions.
Wisconsin Student Immunization Requirements
The Wisconsin Student Immunization Law recently changed. New vaccine requirements for Varicella and MenACWY (meningitis) were added which may affect your child's compliance with the law.
In Wisconsin, if a parent does not wish to have their child vaccinated, they may seek either a religious waiver or personal conviction waiver. This is noted in step 4 of the Child Care Immunization Record attached here.
For immunization requirements, please visit: https://www.dhs.wisconsin.gov/immunization/reqs.htm

Bus Transportation Information
Bus Route Information
Transportation information will be available before Open House. Your student's transportation information will be updated in Infinite Campus. You can login to your Infinite Campus Parent Portal by clicking here. Once in the Portal, please click "More" on the left hand side, and then on "Transportation."
Your student's transportation information includes their bus route number, time of pick up, and location of the bus stop. Drop off information is also included.
Concerns with Transportation
If you have a concern with your student's transportation, please go to our transportation website and follow the information under "Bus Transportation Concerns".
Apply for Transportation
If you are not currently receiving bus transportation but would like to, please go to our transportation website and follow the information under "Apply for Bus Transportation Service". Please note that seating will be limited based on availability for open enrolled students who reside in other school districts but would like to ride MASD routes.
At the bus stop, each child is the responsibility of his or her own parents/guardians. Sending children to a bus stop unsupervised may lead to problems. Speaking with your neighbors and developing some type of rotation system for regular and consistent supervision is strongly recommended.
Medication Drop-Off
For families needing to drop off medications, Angie Schultz, our health room assistant, will be available during open house. Please DO NOT send any medications to school with your child. Parents are required to hand over medications directly to the health room assistant.

Would you like to Volunteer? Here's How!
Become an MASD Volunteer!
If you're interested in volunteering in the district(including going on a field trip), please make sure you have an approved application on file before signing up for events. All volunteers must have an approved application on file prior to checking in at the office. In addition, Volunteers must check in at the kiosk by selecting the VOLUNTEER guest type (not visitor), so the proper screening and admittance is processed.
For more information, please visit our MASD volunteer website or start your application by clicking this link.
Speak Up, Speak Out
MASD is proud to partner with the Wisconsin Department of Justice to use the Speak Up, Speak Out (SUSO) confidential reporting system. SUSO allows students and parents to report weapons, threats of violence, bullying, sexual harassment, threat of suicide, drugs, and any other activity that could potentially endanger students, staff, and property. By using SUSO, students and parents can help keep schools safe, and it’s completely confidential. Students, parents, school staff, or any community members can submit a school safety concern or threat via a website, mobile phone application, or toll-free number. Resource center staff work around-the-clock to respond to tips and to deploy a response locally by communicating directly with school administrators, law enforcement, and counselors. Nationwide, more than half of public middle and high schools now operate a tipline.
Visit the Speak Up, Speak Out website to learn more or to make a tip.
Resources for Homeless Students and Families
The McKinney-Vento Act is a federal law that ensures the right of students to go to school even when they are homeless or don’t have a permanent address. The Act aims to reduce barriers that have prevented many homeless youth from enrolling, attending, and succeeding in school. The Mukwonago Area School District is committed to building and creating a supportive community for all families and students.
Mukwonago Community Bulletin Board
As a service to our community, don't forget that MASD hosts a virtual Community Bulletin Board that is regularly updated with information from organizations providing services or activities. Be sure to bookmark the page and watch Key News for Families all year long for updates!
