We have been working hard all summer preparing classrooms and getting everything ready for our students. We have missed having our Eagles in the building, and we can't wait to fill our hallways once again with learning, laughter, friendships, and growth.

Meet the Teacher
Thursday, August 13 | 1:00–3:00 PM
Bring your children to meet their teacher, explore their new classroom, and drop off school supplies. It's a wonderful opportunity to help everyone feel excited and confident before the first day of school.

First Day of School (Grades 1–6)
Monday, August 17

First Day of Kindergarten
Monday, August 24
Kindergarten begins one week after grades 1–6 to give our newest Eagles a smooth and successful start.

A New Front Entrance

You'll notice an exciting change when you visit campus this year. Our front entrance and office have been redesigned to create a safer, more secure, and more welcoming experience for our students, families, and visitors.

Because the entrance process will be different than in previous years, we'll be sharing step-by-step information over the next few editions of Eagle News so you'll know exactly what to expect before school begins.

Carpool Information

We know many of you are already thinking about drop-off and pick-up procedures. We'll be sending detailed information very soon, including traffic flow maps, arrival and dismissal procedures, and important safety reminders to help make the first week as smooth as possible.

Thank you for your continued partnership and for the trust you place in us each day. We are honored to work alongside your family and are looking forward to a year filled with meaningful learning, lasting friendships, and memorable experiences.

We are excited to introduce an update to the 5th and 6th grade fine arts program for next year!

In an effort to give our students more exposure to the variety of electives they can take in junior high, we will be implementing a course rotation for fifth and sixth graders. Students rotate through all of the courses for their grade level, spending equal time in each one.

Here is what that will look like:

5th grade:

• Art 1
• Drama
• Hip Hop
• Athletics
• Possibly one more course (TBD)

6th grade:

• Art 2
• Musical Theatre (MDT)
• Contemporary Dance
• Robotics

The exceptions to these rotations will be Band, Orchestra and Tyros (auditioned choir.) Students who choose these options will stay in that class for the entire year.

Students who would like to take Band or Orchestra can register for them at the elementary check-in fair July 29 & 30. Look for a table with a sign for 5th & 6th grade band and orchestra sign-ups.

If you cannot register in person, please email awatson@alautah.net and let her know if you're interested in Band or Orchestra. Please register as soon as possible, as we are making careful plans for every class, and students will not be allowed to switch into Band or Orchestra after classes begin.

We are just over one week away from the start of an exciting new school year! We hope you continue to enjoy these final days of summer, make great memories with your family, and come back refreshed and ready for an incredible year.

Our team has been working hard all summer to prepare a new and improved ALA. We are putting the finishing touches on the newly renovated High School Front Office and several other campus improvements as we continue to elevate the experience for our students, families, and staff.

We can't wait to reconnect with each of you and begin another year of learning, growth, and success together. Thank you for being part of the ALA family. Get ready...it's going to be an amazing year!
