Panther Pride Parent Newsletter: Update Road Closure Transportation Plan
Message from the Principal
Dear Parents and Guardians,
I wanted to share an update regarding the road closure in this special newsletter. Be advised: Based on the work scheduled to occur on the Pine Avenue road project this week, the sidewalk will have a NEW detour effective Monday, April 14th. The City of Alma will be closing the entrance to Pine Avenue Elementary School. As a result, all bus drop-offs and pick-ups will now take place at Chatterton Street.
Students will have the opportunity to enjoy a short walk from the bus stop to the school building. To ensure a safe and smooth transition, school personnel will be stationed at the bus stop and along the route to provide guidance and supervision.
Please carefully review the included maps and discuss the changes with your child. To further support student safety, Alma Public Schools will post staff along the sidewalk detour. We will inform you once this portion of the project is completed and sidewalks are reopened. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation as we prioritize the safety and well-being of our students.
As we work with the City of Alma and navigate the flow of traffic and the closure of the street Pine Avenue, the safety of our students is our highest priority. If you have any questions or concerns, or if there's anything I can do to make this transition easier, please don't hesitate to let me know. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding. Together, we can create safe and effective routes to Pine Avenue Elementary.
Your partner in education,
Dr. Konowalow
