Around Campus
Mrs. Estrada Retiring
We are celebrating the end of an era as Mrs. Donna Estrada has officially retired from World Compass Academy. Donna has been a cherished part of our kindergarten team and school community for several years. Her dedication, creativity, and love for her students have touched countless lives, and we will deeply miss her presence and her commitment to our mission.
Celebrating Student Resilience & Dedication
To wrap up the school year, Ms. Powell, presented a deserving student with a very unique honor, a Castle Rock Police Department Challenge Coin. Originally awarded to the teacher for community service, it was passed forward to recognize Lauren's incredible resilience, curiosity, and refusal to give up when the work got tough. In tradition, a challenge coin is only gifted to recognize outstanding character, and we are so proud of Lauren's dedication and achievements this year!
Field Day 2026
What an incredible day of fun, teamwork, and school spirit! Our students brought their absolute best energy to the fields and the gym today, showing fantastic sportsmanship at every single station. Whether they were tugging their way to victory in Tug of War, dodging water balloons, tackling the obstacle course, or cooling down with well-deserved popsicles, the smiles and laughter lasted all day long. A massive thank you to all the staff, volunteers, and parent coordinators who helped make this annual tradition safe, smooth, and completely unforgettable for our school community!
A Taste of Science in the Classroom! 🧠👅
We had a very special guest visit us recently! A student’s aunt, who is a neuroscientist specializing in taste buds, kindly came in to teach Ms. Stern's first grade class a fascinating class on the science of taste. The students learned a ton and thoroughly enjoyed the hands-on experiments and exercises she provided to show us exactly how our sense of taste works. We extend a huge thank you to her for sharing her incredible expertise and making science so much fun for our students!
Math Olympiad
Huge congratulations to our Math Olympiad Co-Champions!
Middle School Champions: James W. and Parker T.
Elementary School Champions: Robert S. and Liam R.
We are so proud of your incredible problem-solving skills!
7th/8th Science
Our 7th and 8th grade science classes had a unique hands-on learning experience as they participated in fetal pig dissections. This lab provides students with a detailed look at anatomy, allowing them to examine organ systems and biological structures they’ve been studying in class. This dissection is always a memorable milestone in our science curriculum.

Summer Reading
Introducing "Life Skills" for a Productive Summer! ☀️
While summer is a time for relaxation and play, it is also the perfect opportunity for students to practice everyday essentials. To help keep young minds sharp, we are excited to share a "Life Skills" packet for parents to work on with their kids over the break! This packet is filled with engaging, practical worksheets designed to teach foundational skills—like memorizing their home address and parents' phone numbers, learning how to properly address a letter, and practicing how to build a grocery list.
Douglas County Libraries
It's not too early to think about Summer Reading! Students can register beginning Friday, May 1 for Douglas County Libraries Summer Reading 2026. Kids can earn prizes for themselves and compete for a cash gift for schools. Visit DCL.org
