What's Happening This Week
Reading & Writing (ELAR)
Students will continue launching their Reader’s and Writer’s Notebooks, building strong routines and habits that will support them throughout the year. They will practice using their notebooks as a place to organize their thinking, respond to reading, and develop ideas for writing. We will also host our annual Book Tasting Event. See below for details on how parents can help and a permission form for treats.
Phonics
Students will focus on CVCe (silent-e) words, reviewing how the final e can change the vowel sound in a word and applying this pattern when reading and spelling.
Math
Students will work on comparing and ordering decimals. They will also practice rounding decimals to the nearest whole number, tenth, and hundredth.
Science
Students will continue investigating the physical properties of matter, with a specific focus on density and conductivity. They will explore how these properties can be used to describe, compare, and classify different materials.
Social Studies
Students will continue developing their map skills while exploring how population is distributed across different areas. They will discuss the factors that influence where people choose to live and settle, such as access to resources, landforms, climate, and other geographic features.
💙 We’re excited to see students continue building strong routines, making connections, and growing their confidence across all subject areas!
