Take 5 for Tech
Edpuzzle (Fall 2023)
Introducing Edpuzzle- Yah, You Get Premium Edpuzzle Too!
Add Eddpuzzle to the AMAZING list of premium tech resources that you have access to using in your classroom! The concept behind Edpuzzle is pretty simple and that's what makes it so good. It takes pre-made videos (or your own) and requires students to pause & respond to basic assessments and review talking points. Teachers control the speed in which students watch and whether they are able to skip questions. The mini assessments are open-ended, true false & multiple choice questions. In fact, teachers can go so far as to embed formulas, images, links & PDFs into questions and notes. These data-driven assignments are easily integrated into Google Classroom and Canvas. (More details below!) Teachers also have full access to Discover Edpuzzle Originals which are Edpuzzles already aligned to standards for them.
Some of the more recent Edpuzzle developments are:
- viewing it live in class
- comparing the teacher's "ideal answer" to the student answer & suggest a grade *
- suggesting questions for you *
- grouping lessons into playlists for units
- allowing teachers to record audio for their questions
- having the opportunity to have closed captions for all videos uploaded to Edpuzzle and
- updating the Edpuzzle app.

Sub Plans Made Easy!
Edpuzzles truly can be one of the easiest ways to make sub plans! Of course there's a lot of opportunity to continue learning and exploring what you're already doing in a unit of study, but it can also be a good opportunity to cover the things you want to or need to, but struggle to find the time.
Below is a list of real-world and life-skill type lessons that can come in handy!
- Financial Literacy Video Lessons (Next Gen Personal Finance, Edpuzzle Originals)
- Tracking Success: Teaching Executive Functioning Skills
- Digital Citizenship Video Lessons
- Test Prep Video Lessons (Organized by grade level)
Students can make & submit their own Edpuzzles
With Edpuzzle, teachers have the ability to assign Edpuzzle creation as well as viewing. Students can submit a video they found on YouTube or one that they made themselves. This is a great opportunity to see what students learned in action and have them flex those creativity muscles. The ways to use this are ENDLESS!
