For the safety of all students, drop off students only at the designated car rider area at the back of the school, highlighted in green on the map.

🚫Do not drop off students in any areas marked in red.

Following the designated drop-off procedures helps us keep traffic moving safely and ensures that students enter the building in a safe and supervised area.

Southern Middle School Picture Day is Coming – September 29!

Picture Day is scheduled for Tuesday, September 29, 2026!

• No Payment Needed Now: Please do not send money to school on Picture Day. You will receive a picture proof package brought home by your student in approximately 3 to 4 weeks with full details on how to place your order.

• Clothing Recommendations: Solid colors and small patterns look best on camera. Choose shades that complement your child, and try to avoid clothing with large logos or graphics

The admission fee for athletic events has increased to $7. Middle Schools are also following a clear bag policy.

💙We are excited to celebrate our SMS Panthers at our FIRST PBIS Celebration of the school year!

🐾So, what exactly is PBIS?

PBIS stands for Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports. It is a schoolwide approach that focuses on teaching, recognizing, and celebrating positive behaviors. At SMS, we want to recognize students who are making good choices, showing respect, taking responsibility, being ready to learn, and demonstrating what it means to be a Panther. 🐾

🎉Our PBIS celebrations are an opportunity to say, “We see you! We appreciate you! Thank you for following the rules! We are proud of you!” 🎉

For our first celebration, we would love to treat our students to a snack and a drink. We are also looking for GLOW PARTY SUPPLIES! (Students will also have additional options for a dance party, athletics in gym, puzzles/coloring). To make this celebration possible, we are looking for donations of approximately:

🍪 400 bags of chips or individual cookies
🧃 400 Capri Suns or individual juice boxes

If you are able to donate, we would be incredibly grateful! Donations can be sent to Southern Middle School and labeled “PBIS Celebration.”

Every bag of chips, cookie, or juice box brings us one step closer to celebrating our Panthers! 💙
