October Count Window

The State of Colorado uses attendance records from September 24th-October 8th to determine how to allocate funding to schools and programs. Please make every effort to ensure that your child attends PSD Options on the dates below:

  • Monday Program: September 28, 2026 & October 5, 2026
  • Friday Program: September 25, 2026 & October 2, 2026

If you have an absence that cannot be avoided on one of these dates, please give us a heads up as it allows us to proactively gather other attendance data for your child to support funding of our program.

Parking Lot Safety

Parking lot safety is a point of emphasis as we start the new school year. We clarified expectations for students about parking lot safety last week, and we would like to share with parents as well so that you can help model safe behavior for all of our learners. This includes:

  • Using the crosswalk to safely move between the school and parking lot.
  • Students should only enter cars in the pickup lane in the portion of that lane that runs parallel to the south side of the school.
  • Students should walk calmly in all spaces outside.
  • Students should only enter cars in the pickup lane from the passenger side of the vehicle. Entering from the driver's side is unsafe since cars will be driving by in the drive-thru lane.
  • Parents should drive slowly in the parking lot.

Timely Student Pick-ups

Please be ready to pick up your student(s) at 4:00pm each Monday or Friday. Our staff are only on contract until 4:15pm, so your timely arrival to pick up students is very appreciated by our staff and allows them to return home to their families on time.

Curriculum Directory

As our program has finally exhausted the remaining items that were left in our curriculum library, we are creating a new directory for families to be able to offer curriculum that is no longer needed, or to request curriculum that is needed. We hope that this becomes a useful resource in our community. Please visit this form to learn more about the directory. Stay tuned for a directory link once some curriculum materials are offered or requested within our community.

Student Directory

The PSD Options Student Directory has been reset for the 2026-2027 school year. The directory link was sent in an email since this update is posted on a public website. If you would like to be included in the directory, please complete this form, and any information that you share will be added to the directory. The directory is optional and only for use within the PSD Options community. Thank you for supporting ways for students to be connected!

New ParentVUE App

Parents have an updated way to keep track of their education this year with the new ParentVUE app. Beginning July 16, the district rolled out an updated ParentVUE mobile app that offers enhanced real-time access to grades, assignments and attendance through improved, more intuitive and user-friendly interfaces for iOS and Android. With the start of the school year, it is also important to make sure all information, including contact information, is up to date. Keeping your information current ensures you can fully benefit from the tools and resources ParentVUE provides. Anyone with difficulty accessing ParentVUE can contact the front office for help.

Funding Changes with the State of Colorado

We received notice in early June that the state made changes to homeschool programs and funding. While there are many details, some of which are still be sorted out, the biggest change is that families can no longer participate in a private school like an umbrella school AND a homeschool enrichment program at the same time. If you have questions, please reach out to our registrar, Ruth Santiago, at rsantiago@psdschools.org.

Promote PSD Options!

If you have friends or neighbors in the homeschool community, please feel free to share about PSD Options. Look for social media messages soon and share with your community!

Reminders Reminders

  • School Meals: PSD Options students are not eligible for free breakfast or lunch despite the passage of the Colorado Healthy School Meals for All ballot issue. The costs are $2.75 for breakfast and $5.25 for lunch. Payment can be made via SchoolPay.

  • Building Map: To help your child know where to go at drop-off, here is a map that shows the main entrance and crosswalk. All students will enter through the main entrance and proceed to the gym for breakfast or to their classrooms.

  • Pick-up & Drop-off: Review this document before dropping off or picking up your child. Our school day ends at 4:00pm and you should arrive to pick up your student no later than 4:15pm. If an unusual circumstance arises that may delay your pick-up, please call the school at 970.488.4600 to give us notice. Our staff do finish their workday at 4:15pm, so timely pick-up is appreciated.

  • Absences: Absences can be submitted in ParentVue, or you may call our attendance line at 970.488.4601 to let us know! Please keep in mind that since Options is an enrichment program, we tend to be more flexible on attendance.

  • Attendance letters: If you have received a letter or notification about your child’s attendance at PSD Options this year, those messages were sent in error. The district has shifted to an automated process for sending these letters electronically, and with our program only meeting once a week it is easier for students to reach the threshold upon which the letter is sent. We are trying to work with the district to turn this automation off for PSD Options, but if you have already received a letter or if you receive one in the future, please know that it was unintended and sent in error. Thanks for your understanding!

Picture Day! It will be from 9am to 12pm. Monday, Sept. 21st - Both PGA high school and Monday Options students (no volunteers needed) Tuesday, Sept. 22nd - PGA K-8 students (2 or 3 volunteers needed) Friday, Sept. 25th - Friday Options students (2 or 3 volunteers needed) Please have them email Ruth Santigo directly. rsantiago@psdschools.org
