SPS Summer Program Interest Survey
We would like to collect information from parents about their interest in enrolling their children in our SPS summer program. This year our Director of After School, Izzie Rose, is hoping to create programming that is more tailored to the students that wish to attend. She has shared ideas with me that include visiting the museum of science, partnerships with MA Audobon, and many more!
If you are interested, please fill out this form to indicate your interest. If you are unsure of your plans, please fill out that week anyway so that we can have a good sense for who might be interested.
The cost of the program will be similar to previous years, but may fluctuate depending on the activities each week. Cost Structure:
- Week-long Program session – 5 days/9:00 am to 3:00 pm: $525/week
- Extended day before program – 7:30 am to 9:00 am: $25/day
- Extended day after program – 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm: $40/day
Depending on the responses that we collect from families, we may be able to offer shorter sessions (for example, to older students) that will have a different cost structure. If you have suggestions, please provide them in the suggestion box at the end of the form!
Report Cards / MAP Scores
Parents or Guardians of students in grades 1-8 should have received your childs(rens) report cards by email today.
Today, students in grades K2-grade 8 will be bringing home an envelope with their Winter MAP Scores.
Empowering God’s Children
Safe Environment Training for Youth/Child Safety Program is required for all students attending schools in the Archdiocese of Boston. It is called Empowering God’s Children, and it was created by VIRTUS, the same organization that created the Protecting God’s Children program that teachers and volunteers complete at our school (sometimes known just as “VIRTUS training”). Empowering God’s Children is tailored to be age-appropriate for children and to help them to build awareness of things like Boundaries, Safe adults, Secrets and Promises, and Friendship.
This program provides the following:
Training on youth safety that is developmentally appropriate for specific age groups
Evidence based and regularly updated lessons
Information on internet/social media risks and safety planning
Parent access to the lesson material through a parent accessible website
We will be incorporating this program into the homeroom classes (Grades K1-6, taught by the homeroom teacher) and into Health Class (Grades 7 and 8, taught by Mr. Schell) for middle school students this year. These courses are taught on a 3-year cycle, with two lessons occurring each year. In practice, much of this kind of information is already being covered by our homeroom teachers, but we have a formal obligation to present this information to our students each year.
In 2026, the following lessons will be taught on March 25th for everyone except 8, and for March 27th for Grade 8.
Science Fair
Parent Information
March 26, 2026
Project Arrival: students will arrive in the morning with their science fair posters and materials. They should go directly to the Ted Hoff Court and drop off their materials between 7:15 am-7:50 am. Mr. Max will be in the gymnasium to receive students. They are expected to be on time for homeroom, so they will need to be dropped off earlier.
During the day classes will have the opportuntiy to see the amazing projects and ask the students questions. Great practice for the evening presentations.
Presentations in the evening: All students, parents or guardians in grades 5-8 are expected to attend the evening portion of the Science Fair from 5:30-7:00 pm. After school program students must be picked up by a parent or guardian prior to the Science Fair @ 5:30 pm. Students will not be dismissed directly to the Science Fair. Parents and students are expected to enter through the front entrance of the school to get to the science fair.
- THE SCIENCE FAIR IS OPEN TO FRIENDS OF SAINT PETER SCHOOL FROM 5:30pm- 6:45pm; AWARDS WILL BE HELD @ 6:45pm- 7:00pm
Students will be stationed with their projects and give presentations and answer the questions of people who ask. Students are expected to take down their projects and bring them home at the end of the evening. At least one parent or guardian must stay with their child (in the gym) from 5:30-7pm.
If a student is not able to attend the evening session, they must alert their science teacher ASAP. Those students will be asked to take down their posters at the end of the K1-4 visits and take their materials home with them.

Student Mass Responsibility Schedule
This year, due to security concerns, we will not be sharing our student mass schedule publicly. However, keep an eye on your homeroom teacher newsletter to know when your student(s) will be helping to lead the mass. We apologize for the inconvenience that this causes.
