Superintendent's On the Move Series
Finishing Strong!
Can you believe we have completed another school year? It seems as if we just began a few weeks ago and yet here we are. We have just graduated the Class of '26 with over 2.1 million in scholarships (Click the photo to the right to view the Graduation Slideshow)! Oh, the places they will go! We also just graduated our first cohort in the Middle College Program with Jackson State Community College. Six of our Class of '26 were able to walk across the stage and receive their AA Degree from JSCC before they even graduated from high school!
While some are on their way to the beach or the mountains or some destination far away, our work still continues through the summer as we prepare for our students to return to our campuses. We will be ready and we have lots of great things in store for our students and our staff. We promise we will work hard to make preparations for their return. As we prepare, we also need everyone to be prepared as we return to open our doors this fall. We will continue to need the support of our generous community partners, our families and our community organizations that continue to be there when a need surfaces. As I stated earlier, it does take a village and we are so appreciative of ours. Without our village, we would not survive.
Get some rest and enjoy your break. We finished strong this year! Let's start strong for the new school year!

Our emcee for the fun was Alderman, Nicholas Graves, Sr. who provided extra energy and excitement for the program!
Humboldt Leading Ladies Scholarship Luncheon - May 28, 2026
The 5th Annual Humboldt Leading Ladies Scholarship Luncheon held nothing back this year! The tables were creative and beautiful, the ladies were out in full fashion force, the food was delicious and the scholarship recipients were blessed with additional funds for the next chapter in their lives.
Lesley Caraway and Tanya Beasley provided exceptional wisdom and guidance for our young ladies about to leave Humboldt and go off to college as well as provided inspiration for all the ladies of the community who were in attendance. More money was raised at the event which allowed our committee to award additional funds after the event. All total, the 5 young ladies received $5,500 from the event!
