Happy Sunday Harrington Families!!

January was a strong and productive month as we welcomed students back from winter break and reestablished routines for learning. Students and staff did a wonderful job jumping back into classroom expectations and setting goals for the second half of the school year.

This month, students participated in mid-year assessments, giving teachers valuable information to guide instruction and support continued growth. We are proud of our students for their hard work and positive attitudes during this time.

We also enjoyed our first monthly Role Model Assembly led by our Student Council, which highlighted our January's role models that characterized the trait of growth mindset, as well as, introducing February's character trait empathy. Our student leaders did an excellent job recognizing our month of January's Role Models for the entire school community to celebrate.

As winter weather continues, we appreciate families’ support in sending students to school dressed for cold temperatures and snowy conditions. Outdoor recess remains an important part of the school day when weather permits, and proper winter gear helps keep students safe and comfortable.

Thank you for your continued partnership and support. January set a positive tone for the months ahead, and we look forward to building on this momentum.

Once again, remember to…"Stay Respectful, Stay Responsible, Stay Ready . . . . Embrace the challenges, learn from mistakes, and have fun."

Be safe! Stay well!

Rob & Karen

Upcoming Harrington Multicultural Night Upcoming Harrington Multicultural Night

We are excited to invite you to participate in our upcoming Harrington Multicultural Night: Celebrating Us! This special evening will take place on Wednesday, February 11th from 6:00–7:30 pm, alongside our Book Fair. Family participation in this event is what makes this event so meaningful and memorable.

We are looking for families who would be willing to share a part of their culture or a special family tradition. Families may work on their own or team up with friends who share similar traditions or cultures. You might choose to share a poster, a game, a sport, food, a dance, a song, or another creative idea. We encourage you to be creative and share what feels meaningful to your family.

This event has been a wonderful success in the past, and it is truly our families who make it such a rich and joyful celebration of our community. We hope you will consider joining us and helping to make this year’s Multicultural Night another great experience for our students.

Scholastic Book Fair Monday, February 9 through Friday, February 13📖

Our Scholastic Book Fair is coming Monday, February 9 through Friday, February 13! Get ready to empower your reader with book choice! This is one of our biggest fundraisers, and proceeds will be used to support HPTOinitiatives. Please help support the HPTO while getting your children hooked on reading!

📖 Start exploring new titles or get a head start and set up an eWallet for your student here:https://www.scholastic.com/bf/charlesharringtonelemsch. eWallets are a safe and secure alternative to cash. Simply create a free account to add funds and/or invite family and friends to contribute to so your child can select their own books. Any unused funds can be spent at The Scholastic Store Online or to fund a future eWallet.

📖 HPTO is hosting Scholastic Family Night on Wednesday, February 11 from 6-8pm in the Harrington Library, in conjunction with Multicultural Night. Join us and shop at the Book Fair with your student!

At the Book Fair, each teacher will have a Wish List on display. You are welcome to purchase a book for your child’s classroom. Any donated book will include a special bookplate recognizing your family and will become a lasting part of the classroom library. Simply bring the book and the Wish List to the register when you check out.

Stop by the registers and have your child enter to win one of our Mystery Bags! There will be one winner per grade - no purchase necessary. Just attend the Book Fair or Multicultural Night to participate.

Bring your own reusable bag to our family shopping event to help us cut down on plastic bags.

📖 We can’t do this without you! Help make our Scholastic Book Fair a success by volunteering. We need volunteers* to help set up, during the day to help our students shop, and at our Wednesday night event! Please sign up here: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10C0B4FA8A92AA0FBC07-60588415-scholastic

*Volunteers must have an up-to-date CORI on file with the district to volunteer during school hours. This will be checked by Harrington's front office staff.

📖 If you can’t make it to the Fair, then shop at our school’s Online Book Fair February 9-22 (https://www.scholastic.com/bf/charlesharringtonelemsch). All orders ship directly to your home, and shipping is free for book orders over $35. Your online orders will also benefit our school.
