“Foster Growth by Challenging Critical Thinkers to Take Risks,

Honor Differences & Care for Others”

STUDENTS CELEBRATE SPRING STUDENTS CELEBRATE SPRING

Students in several grade levels are using the new season to influence their artwork and writing. Kindergarten students are writing and drawing what they love most about spring. We hope you visit their work that is currently decorating our hallways next time you are in.

MUSIC INTEGRATES CONTENT MUSIC INTEGRATES CONTENT

The arts offer a great opportunity to reinforce content learned in the classroom. Students are currently performing songs and dances for their families that are connected to their social studies and science content. Fourth grade performances highlight Colorado History and third graders are signing all about the weather.

We thank music teacher, Mrs. Petty, for creating opportunities to connect the content and our families for coming!

SPOTLIGHT ON THE GRE PTO: HELPFUL SPOTLIGHT ON THE GRE PTO: HELPFUL

PTO

As you are aware, Gold Rush has the first Young Rotarians Club in the world! Each year the Young Rotarians Club completes local and international service projects. Prior projects include decorating bags for a meal delivery service for the elderly, creating health care bags for individuals in Africa and quilting sleep bags for children in need.

This year GRE's Young Rotarians decided to celebrate individuals in our school community. Students focused on five groups of individuals that directly impact our entire school, namely our school resource officer, the lunch and recess aides, our cafeteria staff and the PTO. Students created kindness videos that highlight the character traits that each group embodies. These videos were modeled off of Steve Hartman's Kindness 101 video highlighting service. Click here to view the video.

The Young Rotarians Club is sharing their videos with students and staff. They also wanted to share them with our parent community. This week we are highlighting GRE's amazing PTO. We hope that you will watch and learn more about all that the PTO does for our school community.

We could not be more proud of our students for recognizing others and spreading kindness!

THANK YOU PTO THANK YOU PTO

We thank our amazing PTO for organzing GRE's first mother and son event. Families enjoyed an evening full of magic and fun. We thank the PTO for making this event possible!
