Hello, Lake Ridge family!
This week has been a very heavy week for our region. I hope you and your family are safe and well. If there is anything we can do to support you during this time, please do not hesitate to reach out. If you have any needs, please complete the JCS Family Needs Survey and somone will be in touch. Our hearts are broken for the devastation that is surrounding us. Many students prepared cards and words of encouragement this week that we have sent out to surrounding communities affected by the storm. We are committed to stepping in and providing support and will continue with donation opportunities in the coming weeks.
October is here and we are bringing the first quarter to a close. As a reminder, we have made some adjustments to our calendar. Checkpoints for grades 2-5 will take place October 15-17. Report cards will now be sent home on October 23rd. Due to the recent events, our flu clinic has been postponed. As more information becomes available, I will share it with you.
Thank you all for the tremendous support of our Book Fair! We love seeing students share a love for reading and collecting books which provide entertainment and literacy growth! I need to give a "shout-out" to all the lovely grandparents that also supported this event. We could not get this number of books into our school or children's hands without your support of this event!
As we jump into Fall Break, we also want to make you aware of the key events and dates below. We LOVE building a close community and enjoying time outside the classroom with our students. Please see the "SAVE THE DATES" section below and mark those dates on your personal calendar.
