Talking to Your Child About Bullying
Bullying prevention starts with you!!!
Creating a safe and supportive environment starts with open, honest conversations at home. Talking with your child about their day, friendships, and feelings helps build trust and encourages them to share concerns when something is wrong. Ask open-ended questions, listen without judgment, and reassure your child that they can always come to you for support. If your child shares that they have experienced or witnessed bullying, stay calm, acknowledge their feelings, and work together to identify next steps. It is also important to help children understand the impact of their actions, develop empathy, and learn positive ways to handle conflict. When concerns arise, partnering with your child's school can help ensure that every child feels safe, supported, and included. Let's work together to create a community where kindness, respect, and belonging are part of every day!
