Dear Red Devil Families,

Dear St. Clairsville Elementary Families,

We are so excited to begin a new school year and can't wait to welcome our students back for another year of learning, growing, and adventure! ๐Ÿงญ

To help make the transition back to school as smooth and successful as possible, we will begin the year with a staggered start for our students, as previously communicated by our district newsletter that was emailed to families earlier this month.

This gives teachers and students an opportunity to ease into classroom routines, build relationships, and make sure everyone feels comfortable and ready for the year ahead.

โค๏ธ Why a Staggered Start?

Starting a new school year is a big adventure โ€” especially for our youngest learners! A staggered start gives us the opportunity to:

  • Help students become comfortable with their new classroom and school routines.
  • Give teachers more time to get to know each child and administer diagnostics.
  • Build positive relationships from the very beginning.
  • Help students feel confident and successful as they begin the year.
  • Create a calm, welcoming start to our school year.

We know families have a lot to plan as summer comes to an end, and we appreciate your flexibility and support as we begin the year in this intentional way.

Adventure Awaits! ๐Ÿงญ We are looking forward to welcoming our students back and beginning another incredible journey together!

Yours in Education,

Ms. Amber Galloway
Principal, St. Clairsville Elementary

Monday, August 24, Tuesday, August 25, and Wednesday, August 26
These days will be dedicated to individual family/teacher meetings. Families will receive information about their scheduled meeting time. During this time, teachers will begin getting to know your child and gathering important information to help make their transition to kindergarten successful.

Drop Off and Pick-Up in Gravel Lot

As we prepare for the new school year, we want to make sure everyone feels confident and prepared for morning drop-off and afternoon pick-up. A smooth arrival and dismissal process depends on all of us working together, and we appreciate your patience and cooperation as we get into our routines. โค๏ธ

Please take a few minutes to review the parking lot map below, which shows the designated areas for student drop-off, pick-up, and staff parking.

๐ŸŒ… Morning Drop-Off for K-4th Grade

Please use the designated student drop-off area shown on the map. For the safety of our students, please follow the traffic pattern and directions of our staff members who are assisting with arrival.

Once you enter the drop-off area, please pull forward as directed so we can safely and efficiently unload students.

๐Ÿ  Afternoon Pick-Up

For afternoon dismissal, families should use the designated student pick-up area shown on the map. Please follow the established traffic pattern and staff directions.

๐Ÿšซ Staff Parking

Please remember that the designated staff parking area is for staff members only. Staff members parking in this area will have a parking permit, and the City will be helping us reinforce this designation.

โค๏ธ A Safe Start and Finish to Every Day

We understand that arrival and dismissal can feel a little hectic during the first few days of school. Please be patient with one another as everyone learns the routines. Our priority is always getting our students to and from school safely.

Please review the map carefully before the first day so you know where to go when you arrive on campus.

Thank you for your patience, cooperation, and continued support as we work together to make arrival and dismissal safe, organized, and efficient for everyone!

A Heartfelt Thank You to Our Safety Partners โค๏ธ

We want to extend our deepest gratitude to the incredible community partners who have helped us continue to prioritize the safety and well-being of our students.

A very special thank you to Flowco, WVU Medicine, The Roe Family, and our St. Clairsville Elementary PTA for your generous support and investment in our school. We are also incredibly grateful to our school district for allocating funds toward these important safety initiatives. Your collective generosity and commitment allow us to continue creating a safe, welcoming environment where our students can learn and thrive.

We would also like to give a special shout-out to Mr. Doug for giving his time and helping us hang the canvas along the fence line. Your willingness to jump in and help make this project come together is truly appreciated!

It takes an entire community to support our children, and we are so fortunate to have families, community partners, our PTA, and our district standing alongside us. Thank you for believing in our students and for helping us make St. Clairsville Elementary a safer and stronger place for every child. โค๏ธ
