Hazel Owens Elementary

Our students thoroughly enjoyed dressing up each day for red ribbon week! Thank you to PTA for decorating our school, setting up interactive photo booths, and providing our students with prizes each day.

We had over 200 applications for students leadership jobs! Our staff spent the last week filtering through the applicants and making selections for their jobs. Students will be notified on Monday by letter if they were selected for a position and that letter will provide details for when and how the job will be completed.

We are so excited about our upcoming Storybook Parade on Monday. The Parade will begin at 1:30 PM. All students will make one complete loop of the route below. Student's costumes should be a character from a storybook and students are to carry their book during the parade to represent their costume. You can see where parents are encouraged to stand in the image below. The Owens staff will primarily park in the back of the school on this day leaving the front spots available for guests. We are expecting a lot of families this day so please be patient when looking for parking and a place to stand.

Once students are back in their classroom, admin will gather up students who have been pre-checked out and bring them to you. PK-K students will meet their parents in the back of the school. 1-2 Parents will meet their students in the front of the school under the awning. 3-5 Parents will meet their students outside the cafeteria. Older students will move to their youngest sibling's location.

If you do not pre-check out your student using this form then you will need to go through our normal processes by going to the front office.

I have started highlighting students who are being successful in their extra curriculars outside of school on the morning announcements. If you ever snap a video of your child doing something exceptional at sports, dance, gymnastics, music, church, or in the community please share it with me so I can highlight them for exemplifying the 7 Habits outside of school.
