I’m Ms.Albarran, your Community Schools Coordinator, and I’m excited to launch our new community newsletter alongside Ms. Marin, our Parent Engagement Specialist! This newsletter is designed to keep you informed about our upcoming events, community partnerships, and valuable opportunities for both families and scholars.
In this edition, you'll find exciting scholar shoutouts and images from last week’s events, showcasing the amazing activities happening in our school community. We’ll also highlight local resources that can support your family, from educational programs to wellness initiatives. Our goal is to foster a strong sense of community and ensure that every family has access to the tools they need to thrive.

Queridas Familias y Comunidad de Tennenbaum,

Dear Alliance Tennenbaum Families,
I am deeply honored to serve this incredible community, and I’m filled with pride as I witness the dedication and potential of our scholars. Our school is built on the pillars of P.R.I.D.E.: Personal Pathways, Relationships, Intellect, Dynamic Scholar, and Empowerment. These values guide us in preparing your children for success, both academically and personally.
As we embark on this journey together, I want to emphasize the importance of partnership. Your involvement is critical in helping us create an environment where every scholar can thrive. Whether through open communication, participating in school events, or supporting learning at home, your role is vital. Together, we can ensure that our students grow into empowered, lifelong learners who are ready to make a positive impact in the world.

This week's Wolf PRIDE Spotlight goes to David Zamora!
David was featured on the Alliance Intranet in honor of Hispanic & Latine Heritage month!
David joined Tennenbaum early in his freshmen year. As soon as he arrived, David became an active member of all Tennenbaum has to offer, including playing as an offensive right guard and defensive tackle on our Varsity football team, serving as the Social Media manager for Tenn Tech Associated Student Body Leadership, serving as a phenomenal Tenn Tech Ambassador and tour guide extraordinaire, and serving as Vice-President of our Tenn Tech Barber Club. David shows us the power of opportunity and strong relationships. For his feature on the Alliance Intranet he was asked what he loves about his culture. David had this to say:
"I love the traditions because I am Mexican and Salvadoran and I get to enjoy both sides. For example, I enjoy celebrating Salvadoran Independence Day in September. I also enjoy the traditional Mexican dances and celebrating with my loved ones. I love the food, the music, the people and how passionate they are for their culture and I love the spirit I get to celebrate at Tenn Tech with the culture we have at school."
David exemplifies WOLF PRIDE each and every day and we are proud of him.

I’m excited to share that the college application season officially kicks off TODAY, October 1st. This is an important time for our 12th Grade Scholars, and I’m here to support them every step of the way.
Throughout the upcoming weeks, I will be working with each scholar individually as well as in group sessions. Together, we will navigate the application process, explore their options, and help them submit strong applications. I look forward to collaborating with you and your scholar during this exciting journey!

Me emociona compartir que la temporada de aplicaciones de ingreso a la universidad comienza HOY, 1 de Octubre. Este es un momento importante para nuestros estudiantes del doce grado y estoy aquí para apoyarlos en cada paso del camino. Durante las próximas semanas, trabajaré con cada estudiante de manera individual y en sesiones grupales. Juntos, navegaremos por el proceso de solicitud, exploraremos sus opciones y los ayudaremos a presentar lo mejor de sí mismos ante las universidades.¡Espero colaborar con usted y sus estudiantes durante este emocionante viaje!

Event Details
Parent University will be held on Saturday, October 5th at California State University, Dominguez Hills, located at 1000 E Victoria St, Carson, CA 90747. The event begins at 9:00 AM, but we recommend arriving early to enjoy breakfast and get settled in.
Morning Schedule:
Breakfast: 7:45 AM - 9:00 AM
Registration: Opens at 8:00 AM
Opening Program: Begins at 9:00 AM
Sessions:
Upon registration, you will receive a program with detailed information about the sessions.
All sessions are offered in both English and Spanish. Please refer to the program for session language details.
You can attend a total of three sessions throughout the day.
Afternoon Schedule (Lunch & College/Resource Fair):
Lunch: Begins at 12:20 PM after the third session.
We encourage you to explore the College & Resource Fair, featuring:
Over 30 college representatives from across the U.S.
Over 30 resources, including information on mental health services, health services, job support, and more!
The event ends at 2:30 pm!
We look forward to seeing you and your family this Saturday.

La Universidad para Padres se llevará a cabo el sábado, 5 de octubre, en la Universidad Estatal de California, Dominguez Hills, ubicada en 1000 E Victoria St, Carson, CA 90747. El evento comienza a las 9:00 AM, pero recomendamos llegar temprano para disfrutar del desayuno y acomodarse.
