The Gift of Life visits MHS
Students in Mrs. McGormley's Human Body Systems classes had the opportunity to hear from a Gift of Life representative on Thursday, April 30th. Cristal Rivas, a Public Education Specialist, came to speak on the organ donation process in Michigan and why it is vital to consider being an organ donor. Students were able to hold real human preserved organs and got to "see" what it was like to have corneal blindness and how tissue donation can help those that need cornea transplants. They also learned about which specific organs can be donated, the difference between living/deceased donors and the critical shortages and waiting lists that exist.
News from the Counseling Office
SENIOR INFORMATION NEEDED
The Counseling Office is working on a display to recognize and celebrate each senior's future plans. All seniors were sent a survey to complete that will ensure everyone can be included. If your senior has not yet made a decision on their future plans, please encourage them to communicate to the Counseling Office once a decision is made!
