From the Principal's Desk
Dear SHS Families,
Looking into the weekend marks the beginning of the most exciting time of the year to be a disciple of Christ. Beginning with Palm Sunday and leading through the Easter Octave, we celebrate and remember Christ’s passion and victory on the cross as a community. I know the school will be a buzz next week in preparation for the celebration of Easter. We welcome all to join in this preparation as our 1st and 2nd graders perform the living stations of the Cross Wednesday afternoon at 2:30.
Next week, our 3rd-6th graders will also be taking their state assessments. These tests are summative indicators of how well our students are approaching proficiency in their learning. I don’t want our students to put too much stress on these exams, but I do want them to put their best efforts forward. You can help them do so by ensuring that they are getting a good night's sleep, eating a protein-rich breakfast, using encouraging language towards their testing, and praying for them. I will be offering my Mass in part, Sunday for our students and believe that they will do well. Good luck kids!
The deeper and deeper we get into spring, the busier and busier, I see the school calendar get. Make sure that you are checking the calendar on the school’s website, or checking in with your student’s teacher so you are not missing anything coming up.
With Faith & Hope,
Patrick (P.J.) Greer
