Gingerbread Scavenger Hunt
This week we have been learning all about comparing and contrasting stories! Today we went on a scavenger hunt for a gingerbread man!!
Groundhog Day
Today, we had fun learning about Groundhog Day and talking about its traditions with the kids! We predicted whether the groundhog will see its shadow and what that means for the weather.
Measuring Angles
This week in fourth grade math it is all about measuring angles using a protractor!!! Today we played Guess My Angle to practice making an estimate, and then used the protractor to find the actual angle measurement. The closer the guess, the more points were scored!
4th Annual Super Bowl Extravaganza
Down, set, HUT!
Our 4th graders competed in our 4th Annual Super Bowl Extravaganza! (Due to some scheduling conflicts, we celebrated a week early!) They started with a pre-game warmup with their three coaches and some special football pros. They spent the day rotating through three quarters where they competed to be the Super Bowl champs! The competitions consisted of editing and revising sentences in writing, measuring angles in math, and analyzing football commercials and related texts. In the final quarter, teams participated in some team building competitions to make one final push for win. In the post game highlights, both teams visited the concession stand to enjoy a refreshing Gatorade and snack.
In the end, the Eagles were presented with the Lombardi trophy and their Super Bowl rings!
