VHS First Day Info!
Student Schedules and First Week of School Resources
First Day of School is August 17th!
August 9th, 2022
Dear Viper Students and Parents,
On behalf of the faculty and staff of Vandegrift High School, welcome to the 2022-2023 school year. As the principal of Vandegrift, I am proud and honored to continue to be a part of the LISD tradition of excellence and to have the opportunity to share in this unique experience. This summer, our staff has been busy preparing for the school year to address the unique challenges confronting all public schools. We still have a few key teaching positions to fill, as well as numerous custodial and transportation openings, so we ask your patience as we navigate these challenges during the upcoming year.
In addition, we have seen a surge in student and staff COVID infections and project shortfall in substitute teachers, and anticipate a considerable impact on the students and the instructional environment for the near future. We will meet these unique challenges, but again, ask for additional consideration if your child is affected by any of these situations.
We look forward to making the upcoming year a rewarding and memorable time for each student. The faculty and staff at VHS are committed to working to make sure each student receives a personalized education experience and the world class curriculum and programs that you have come to expect from LISD schools. Please feel free to contact me or a staff member if you have any questions, or if there is anything we can do to ensure that your student has a positive and rewarding high school experience at Vandegrift. I hope the following information helps you plan for back-to-school.
On behalf of the entire VHS staff, we wish you a great remaining summer vacation. We will see you August 17th!
Sincerely,
Charlie Little
Principal, Vandegrift High School

Join the VHS PTSA Today!
Parents ask how they can be involved & support the school --- Easiest step is to join the PTSA as a family (moms, dads, guardians, students). Please take a moment to join – the list of activities and support they provide year round to the staff, students and community is too numerous to mention. Return on your investment in dues and participation in the “write the check” fund-raiser is high. Form attached for check/cash enrollment, credit cards accepted at the PTSA store : vandegrift-mypta.org

School Supplies
There is no set school supply list for high school due to the dynamic schedules all students have. Each teacher will let students know the first week of school what supplies are needed for their class. Teachers will post supply lists on their individual web pages or send home a list with their syllabus.
