Start with Hello & Stomp Out Bullying Week!

It is great to see our kids show such excitement and enthusiasm for the greater Big Walnut Community and take ownership of our School during Spirit Week. So many smiles and Eagle Pride this week and especially preparing for our Homecoming Pep Rally. Special Thanks to Mrs. Miller, Student Council, and the HS Student Leaders for their work making this week special. It is great to be a Big Walnut Golden Eagle! Now it is time for our Football Friday Nite. Go Eagles!

October is Bullying Prevention Month at BWMS. During this month, our school will have focused Advisory lessons each Monday that target this initiative to support the positive environment at our school. We will focus on Kindness and Positive Words as we build for a whole-school celebration to Stomp Out Bullying on 10/9/26. With the Stomp Out Bullying Day, students will have targeted activities the last 2 hours of the school day.

Have a great day and Go Eagles!

Sincerely,

Mr. Josh Frame

Every year, thousands of schools participate in Start with Hello Week, which is a week dedicated to making social connections and creating a sense of belonging in schools. During this week, your student will have the opportunity to engage in activities that help them meet new people and build community. This week also meets requirements for House Bill 123 and is a state-approved resource. The week will finish with our Stomp Out Bullying Day on Friday 10/9/26.

  • 6th Grade Outdoor Education will take place during the week of October 6th according to the following schedule by team - 10/6 for 6-A, 10/7 for 6-B, and 10/8 for 6-C. Additional details have been emailed home to families.

Support our PTO at the Big Nut Strut

Have you registered for the Big Nut Strut 5k? The event is Sunday, November 8th at PRE/BWHS.

This fun, family-friendly event helps raise money for all 8 Big Walnut Schools! This was one of the biggest fundraisers in 2026, and we need your help. The more participants from our school, the more money our school gets!

You can participate in-person or virtually for the 5K race or 1 mile walk. The Big Nut Strut brings our community together helping raise support for all Big Walnut Preschool, Elementary, Intermediate, Middle School and High School PTOs.
