Dear Tuscan Family~
Thank you for your patience and grace, throughout the 2021 – 2022 school year, as we cautiously worked to pivot and adjust to frequently changing COVID-19 procedures, construction challenges and overall imperfect conditions. And in spite of it all, individually and collectively we remained dedicated to providing your children/our students with productive, memorable and enjoyable learning experiences at Tuscan!
And so the adventure begins!
Kudos to Tuscan 5th Grade Class of 2022! Farewell to Tuscan’s retiring 3rd Grade Teacher Mrs. Donatelli. Thank you to our 2021-2022 Tuscan PTA President Ronni Schwartz for a decade of positive partnership and support! You all will be missed and we hope you will visit Tuscan often and soon. Thank you to all Tuscan teachers and staff for your diligent work and especially for your unwavering dedication to keeping Tuscan’s children safe and well educated during challenging times!

Tuscan Virtual Art Show

This summer ….
As a reminder, Tuscan’s Summer Jubilee Program, for registered students, will be held at Maplewood Middle School, July 5th – July 29th from 8:30am – 12:30pm.
Over the summer months, we will be planning and diligently working to ensure a smooth and successful opening of the 2022 – 2023 school year for Tuscan students, teachers, staff and families. When Tuscan School reopens for students on Thursday, September 8th, 2022, we will be excited for our students return and delighted to have four newly constructed classrooms for Tuscan’s 5th Grade class of 2023!

REMINDER! Update Contact Information for All Parties Via School Messenger:
In order to communicate with you through School Messenger, it is important that we have the most up-to-date contact information available for all parties.
- Parents/Guardianss, if you have not yet completed the annual online parent portal forms, we are requesting you do so as soon as possible. More information for parents is found here.
- All staff members are asked to communicate any telephone number changes to the Human Resources department using the “Change staff contact information” form found on the Human Resources website.

The PTA is partnering with a new school supply vendor, Bright SchoolKitz® to provide supply kits to match your teacher’s supply list for the 2022-23 school year. Thank you to our wonderful teachers for already putting together the supply lists! Order now and eliminate the back-to-school shopping hassle. Kits are filled with brand names (Crayola, Elmer's, etc.) and quality products that are competitively priced with local and large retailers. Hurry! The earlier you order, the lower the price!
All kits ordered before 6/24, the last day of school, are discounted, though they will be available to order through early October. Kits ordered by families will be shipped to your home.
NOTE: Kits will be provided by the Tuscan PTA to all Tuscan students who qualify for free and reduced lunch. We will make arrangements with Ms. Buggy to get kits to the children before school starts. Questions about this process? Please contact Ms. Buggy.

BOE Approves 2022-23 & 2023-24 Academic School Year Calendars
SOMSD'S 2022-23 & 2023-24 academic school calendars were approved by the Board of Education at its February 24th meeting. This year the BOE approved the school year calendars for the next two academic school years. Thereby allowing staff and families to plan accordingly for upcoming academic school years.
