COLLEGE WEEK STARTING Monday 9/29
HELP NEEDED FRIDAY OCTOBER 3rd- GRILL DADS
Let’s Wrap Up College Week with a Sizzle! 🔥
To celebrate the end of College Week, we’re hosting a staff cookout and potluck lunch this Friday—and we’d love for our WCES dads to be part of the fun!
We’re looking for a few fathers to bring mobile or donated grills and help us fire up the festivities. If you're upgrading your grill, consider donating your old one to WCES—it’ll be put to great use!
Here’s what the day looks like:
- 9:30 AM – Dads gather to connect, set up, and start grilling
- 10:30 AM to 12:35 PM – Lunches begin and continue through the afternoon
- Goal: Grill up 100 hamburgers to fuel our amazing staff!
If you’re able to volunteer your time or bring a grill, please reach out to Assistant Principal Ward Prather at pratherw@fultonschools.org
. Let’s make this a memorable and meaningful end to College Week—thank you for your support!
ATTENDANCE COUNTS

DIGITIAL CITIZENSHIP AT HOME
Supporting Digital Citizenship at Home
Each year, Wilson Creek students learn essential digital citizenship skills during their Media Center specials. These lessons help students make safe, respectful, and informed choices online—skills that are more important than ever in today’s fast-changing digital world.
To support families in continuing these conversations at home, we recommend exploring these helpful resources from Common Sense Media:
- 📱 Family Tech Planners: Create a personalized plan for managing tech use at home.

WCES Staffing Updates
Exciting Staffing Updates!
We’re thrilled to share some important staffing news as we continue to grow and prioritize the needs of our students.
Welcome Rachel Pritchett!
Rachel has officially joined our fifth-grade team. Last week, she worked diligently to set up her classroom, connect with her grade-level team, and meet with our administrative staff. Her class will be opening very soon, and we’re confident she will make a meaningful impact in our upper grades.
Supporting Student Success
To better support our learners, we’re adding additional staff members to help reduce the student-teacher ratio. This means more individualized attention and increased support in the classroom—a win for both students and teachers!
Staffing Recommendations:
We actively interviewed a wide variety of candidates for our open second-grade teaching position and our kindergarten paraprofessional role. Although it took several weeks, our commitment remained strong in finding the best possible individuals to join our team. After an extensive search, we have recommended Jennifer Lott in 2nd grade and Whitney Johnson to join our kindergarten paraprofessional group. They will be working through FCS onboarding requirements next week before being cleared to report to work. We will keep specific parent groups updated on the timeline for each educator to officially start and we'll ask for volunteers to move once we officially introduce Ms. Lott. We appreciate your flexibility.

Progress Reports and Viewing Grades
The first progress report of the year will be available for viewing in Campus Parent on Friday, September 19th. This is a 4.5 progress report of the first semester. Please remember there are not many grades at this time of the year which can result in extreme grades (high or low). Course averages accumulate throughout the semester with the final grade coming at the end of the semester. As always, we encourage you to check Campus Parent frequently to review your child's grades.

Fulton County Attendance Reminder-REPEAT
ALL IN ON ATTENDANCE – Building Strong Routines
September is the perfect time to set consistent morning and bedtime routines that make school attendance a natural habit. Students who start the year strong are more likely to maintain excellent attendance all year long. Students who miss fewer than 5 days in the first semester are 3 times more likely to stay on track in reading and math. The late bell rings at 7:40am for elementary school. Students should be in their classroom ready to learn at that time.

Stay tuned for more details, including volunteer opportunities and exciting highlights from the fair. Thank you for your support in making this event a success!
