Our Week at Reutter School
Week of March 2, 2026
Principal's Message
Dear Reutter School Families/Guardians,
Thank you to the many families who joined us for our Student Council-sponsored Candybar BINGO on Wednesday evening; your participation made for a fantastic community event during a productive week of learning at Reutter School.
In sixth-grade science, students strengthened their informational writing skills by completing a Research Simulation Task (RST). As part of their ecology unit, students analyzed the environmental impact of the invasive Lionfish and evaluated various mechanisms designed to remove the species from affected ecosystems. The task required students to synthesize information from informational text to construct a formal written response, allowing them to apply literacy standards, such as citing evidence, within the context of their scientific studies.
As already mentioned, on Wednesday, February 25, the Student Council sponsored our Family Candybar BINGO event. The evening served as a successful community engagement opportunity where families played multiple rounds of BINGO and enjoyed snacks provided by our student representatives.
In Physical Education, classes are currently engaged in a comprehensive volleyball unit. Instruction is focused on understanding core skills, including serving, passing, and setting, as well as understanding court positioning and team communication. These lessons serve as preparation for the upcoming Annual Grade-Level Volleyball Tournament, where students will apply these technical skills in a competitive team environment.
The week concludes on Friday with our monthly Reutter RAM School Spirit Day. Looking ahead to next week, Reutter School will celebrate Read Across America Week. Our Student Council has designed a special series of daily reading-themed spirit days to promote literacy throughout the school.
Sincerely,
Mr. Theodore Peters
Principal

Sixth Grade Science Ecology Unit Research Simulation Task
Sixth-grade science students completed a written Research Simulation Task (RST) this week, focusing on informational writing skills. As part of their current ecology unit, students analyzed the environmental impact of the invasive Lionfish and evaluated various mechanisms designed to remove the species from affected ecosystems.
The task required students to synthesize information from an informational text to construct a formal written response. This exercise allows students to apply literacy standards, such as citing evidence, within the context of their scientific studies on ecology.
Learning About Volleyball in PE Class

Instruction is focused on understanding core skills, including serving, passing, and setting, as well as understanding court positioning and team communication. These lessons serve as direct preparation for our upcoming Annual Grade-Level Volleyball Tournament, where students will apply these skills in a competitive team environment.
