Student Safety
Student Safety is a top priority in the Greenfield Union School District. To help maintain safe and secure campuses, all visitors are required to sign-in through the Raptor system and present a valid ID before accessing students and campus.
In addition, if is also very important that parents keep their phone numbers and emergency contact information current. In the event of an emergency, having accurate contact information allows the school to quickly communicate important updates and contact parents or guardians when needed. Reach out to your school when changes are needed,
In the GFUSD, we use the Standard Response Protocol (SRP) to provide staff and students with common language and consistent procedures for responding to emergencies. Throughout the year, we practice these safety actions through regular drills. Our September safety drill will focus on EVACUATE. An evacuation is called when we need to move students from one location to another location for safety reasons: fire, power outage, gas leak, or damaged building as a result of an earthquake.
For more information on SRP, please watch the linked video.
PBIS
What is PBIS? PBIS stands for Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports. It is a district-wide commitment to promoting and teaching positive behavior to students while also improving the school’s social-emotional environment.

🌿 Behavioral Health
September: Suicide Prevention & Mental Health Awareness
September is Suicide Prevention Month—a time to remind our students, families, and school community help is available, and no one has to navigate difficult moments alone. Mental health challenges can affect anyone, and knowing the warning signs, starting a conversation, and connecting with support can make a meaningful difference. If you are concerned about your child or someone you love, please reach out to your school’s behavioral health team. Our school social workers, counselors, wellness coaches, and other caring staff are available on campus to listen, provide support, and help families navigate difficult situations and connect with additional resources when needed. Families can also access mental health and suicide prevention resources through our district website (HERE), including information about warning signs, how to start a conversation, and where to find help. For immediate crisis support, call or text 988, the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, which is available 24/7. Reaching out is a sign of strength—not weakness.
