Halloween Parade & More
Parade & Room Parties
Our Wasco Wolf and 5th grade students will lead the building on a short parade outside the building on Friday, October 31, 2025 @ 2:30. The parade will conclude around 2:40. Visitors can view the parade from the playground area as it will start out door 1 and end at door 17.
Only room parents will be allowed in the building during our parade and party. The parties will conclude at 3:20 pm.
Costumes
- Students will bring their costumes to school and change into them shortly before the parade
- Costumes may not include any sort of violence/gore, blow up costumes or motorized components
- Costumes can not be inflatable as we do not have enough space in our hallways
- Students will not have time to put on face paint or make up so we ask that they save that for their after school activities
Snack & Lunch Reminders
After Halloween many students will be very interested in digging in that candy back to bring items to school. If you could discourage candy coming to school, we would appreciate it.

Veteran's Day Ceremony
We will be having an all school ceremony to celebrate those who have served or are serving our country. We would love to honor your family or close friends who are veterans. Please complete the survey linked below. This survey needs to be completed no later than November 6, 2025 so that we can plan accordingly.
If you are having trouble opening up the survey, please stop by the office to pick up a paper copy.
Unfortunately, due to space constraints only the veterans and family supporting veterans will participate or be present during the assembly.
CogAT Testing - Grades 3 & 5
October 2025
Dear Parent:
Between November 10 and November 21, 2025, 3rd and 5th graders will be taking the Cognitive Abilities Test (CogAT). The test consists of three sections, 90 minutes of total test time, broken into nine 10-minute tests. Your child’s principal will communicate the exact dates for testing.
The Cognitive Abilities Test measures a student’s verbal, quantitative, and nonverbal reasoning abilities which can facilitate their learning and problem-solving. Information gathered from CogAT scores may be used to adapt instruction and programs to the needs and abilities of students. It may also provide insight into a student’s readiness for advanced academic programming such as the Academically Talented program. For more information on Academically Talented students click here: https://district.d303.org/programs/accelerated-placement. Student results will be sent home in December. We appreciate your support of our academic programs and your partnership in facilitating your child’s learning.
Please feel free to contact your building principal or one of the people below if you have any questions.
Sincerely,
Tina King, Gifted Coordinator
David Chiszar, Sr. Dir of Learning & Teaching Exec. Dir. of Assessment & Accountability
