We're thrilled to share a quick update on the exciting happenings at Parkrose High School:

Join us for the much-anticipated premiere of Shrek in the theater! Our talented students are bringing this beloved story to life, and we can't wait for the stage opening. Our spring sports teams are in action, including the new additions of girls flag football and boys volleyball. Come cheer for our athletes as they showcase their skills and sportsmanship. Forecasting for the next academic year is underway. Our counseling team is here to ensure students choose classes that align with their goals for a successful graduation.

ATTENDANCE

Parkrose High School is committed to attendance both to school and in class during the day. In the spirit of the new year, we will be making every effort to ensure that students understand the importance of being in class on time and our policy around attendance.

Our goal is for every student to earn the credits they need to graduate on time with choices for their future which starts by attending class regularly. Students who have more than four unexcused absence (UA) periods in one week will receive a skipping referral which admin will process using the support ladder. Students who have more than five unexcused late (UL) periods in a week will be assigned lunch detention.

Please help us by calling 503.408.2689 or emailing Tiana Davis (attendance secretary) at tiana_davis@parkrose.k12.or.us if your student is going to be late, leaving early or missing all or any part of the school day.

Handicap Parking Spaces

Parkrose is asking that you respect the handicap parking spots by ONLY parking in those spaces if you have a LEGAL handicap parking permit hanging in your vehicle. Parking in these spaces includes just pulling up to drop off or pick up a student without leaving your vehicle, this is still not permitted by law, please respect those that need access to these spaces.

Shaver Crosswalk

Bronco Families we are asking for your help! Before and after school we do our best to get car riding students out quickly and keep traffic moving. We also always want to keep the safety of our students at the forefront, to do so we have a crossing guard at the crosswalk between the MS and HS. There have been times when the crossing guard has come close to getting hit by a car while trying to provide our students a safe place to cross the street. Please help us by watching for the crossing guard if you come to pick up your student!

Off and Away - Technology Policy

At Parkrose High School, we prioritize creating a focused and productive learning environment for our students. To ensure this, we have implemented an "Off-and-Away" policy for personal electronic devices during classroom instructional time. Cellphones, earphones, and smartwatches are to be off and away in classrooms. Exceptions may be made upon approval.

This policy aims to minimize disruptions, enhance engagement, and promote meaningful interactions among students and teachers. We appreciate your support in helping us maintain a conducive atmosphere for learning.
