MIDDLE SCHOOL NEWS
Naviance is an online platform that helps students plan for college and careers. Each MTRS student has their own account that they begin using in 7th grade and continue to use throughout high school at MTRS. This month using Naviance, 8th graders will complete the Skills Assessment, and 7th graders will complete the Personality Assessment (Myers Briggs). Each assessment matches students with potential career pathways and provides detailed information about the pathways. Ask your student what types of careers they have been matched with or have them login to Naviance to show you the results of their assessments!
During Advisory, Student Services hosts College Visits and Career Conversations. These are brief information sessions about a particular college or career. This week, many 8th graders attended an information session about Dual Enrollment at GCC, and over the course of the fall, have attended at least one additional college visit. There will be more opportunities for middle school students to attend Career Conversations in the spring.
Students who are having difficulty logging into Aspen can sign up outside of Ms. Ruggeri's office to attend a help session during lunch on Mondays, or visit the Twin Lakes Technology helpdesk. The helpdesk is available for families as well as students.
