Odyssey of the Mind- If your student would like to participate in Odyssey of the Mind, please see the Werner OM flyer and OM problems overview for more details. We will have an informational meeting on October 9th in the Werner Media Center from 6:00 - 7:00 for families who would like to learn more about Odyssey of the Mind (OM).
Please go to this link and fill out the following information to indicate your student's desire to participate in Odyssey of the Mind at Werner during the 2025-2026 school year. Registration closes on October 23rd. After 10/23, we will review everyone's preferences and create teams. Please consider how your family can volunteer to support our OM teams and review the Student and Parent Agreement. Family participation is critical to the success of OM teams.
Our goal is for teams to practice once a week, starting in late November. The initial cost will be $50, which can be paid on School Pay or by exact cash or check at the office. If you have questions, please contact Butterscotch Culhane bculhane@psdschools.org.
DAB (District Advisory Board) Help Needed- Our school is looking for two representatives to serve on our District Advisory Board. The District Advisory Board advises the district on a number of issues and is made up of parent representatives from each school and acts as a link between the community and the district. If you are interested, please email Mr. Camp (hcamp@psdschools.org).
SAC Help Needed- One of our leadership teams is our School Accountability Committee. This team of parents and staff meets about 5-6 times each year to help guide on school improvement efforts. If you are interested in joining this team, please email Mr. Camp (hcamp@psdschools.org).

NEWS FROM PSD
Important Attendance Update for October
With the school year off and running, we are proud of our students for showing up each and every day.
We are fast-approaching an important attendance milestone that occurs every year: the Colorado Department of Education’s official “October Count.” October Count measures how many students are enrolled and attending in districts across the state; the official count date is Wednesday, October 1.
The data collected during this period is the basis for determining how much funding each school district receives for the year. In other words, every student in class means resources for our schools – funding that supports students, teachers, and programs. We encourage all students to be in class each and every day and their attendance during the next month is important, as it will have a tangible impact on the funding the district receives to serve every student in our classrooms.
We also recognize that getting to school every day is not always easy. Challenges such as transportation, work schedules, or health concerns can create barriers to student attendance. We are here to help. If your student is struggling with attendance, please reach out to your school’s front office, teachers, or counseling staff for resources and support.
We are committed to working together so every student has the opportunity to learn, grow, and succeed.
