Principals' Message
Dear SCS Families and Caregivers,
Everybody Wins Vermont hosted their annual mentor/mentee gathering this week with an evening of pizza and book games. Celebrating these relationships grounded in belonging, lasts far beyond their weekly meetings sharing books, games and social time. It is heartening to see Everybody Wins and their volunteers make a difference in the lives of these learners. There is a strong emphasis on the "transformative power of supportive relationships." These mentoring pairs aren’t just tutoring or guidance; it’s about creating a safe space where a child feels seen and valued for exactly who they are. Thank you to Sarah Wannop and the team of dedicated volunteers!
Also this week: April Fool’s Day, of course, which fell on the date of our monthly 5-8 assembly. In the midst of students sharing shout-outs from across the middle level, an announcement came over the PA system about an issue with a car…whose license plate matched Mr. Cluff’s! This turned our virtual meeting into a virtual field trip. Kids got to witness the walk out to the parking lot in real time. Hats off to the students who helped pull off the prank. Thankfully, it was a quiet rest of the week.
We hope you all have a wonderful weekend, and we’ll be in touch next week.
In partnership,
Antonia, Jen and Brett
The SCS Administrative team
