A Message from Our Principal
Dear Farnham Families,
Welcome back! We’re so excited to have our Falcons on campus again. Our amazing staff has been hard at work getting classrooms, playgrounds, and hallways ready for a fantastic year ahead.
Join us this Friday, 4:00–7:00 PM at Houge Park for our Back to School Family Social where fun, food, and friends await!
Please join our Home and School Club in the library on Tuesday, September 19th at 6:30 for our first HSC meeting. This is a wonderful opportunity for you to learn more about Farnham and how you can get involved.
Here’s to a year of learning, adventure, and growth, while solving problems, making good decisions, and showing respect. Let’s make it a great one!
Be well,
Amy O’Hehir
Farnham Principal
IMPORTANT PARKING UPDATE
For the safety of all Farnham students, we have a designated drop-off and pick-up area on Woodard for Adroit Drivers only.
Please help us keep this space clear—do not park, drop off, or pick up in this zone unless you are an Adroit Driver.
Your cooperation ensures our students can arrive and leave safely every day. Thank you for your support!
2025-2026 School Calendar
2025-2026 Bell Schedule
First Days Of School
TK/Kinder Modified Schedules
From August 14th to September 5th, all TK and Kinder students will have an early dismissal of 11:40am to help them gradually adjust to a full school day. The first full day of class will be on September 8th.
Attendance Is Important
Consistent school attendance is key to success for your child. Ensuring your child is on time and in attendance on the first day of school is very important. If a student is NOT in attendance on the first day of school, they will be dropped from enrollment at the end of the day UNLESS we receive communication from their parent/guardian regarding the reason for their absence. If your child has five unexcused absences during the first week of school, August 14th-20th, your student will be dropped from enrollment at the end of the day on August 20th. If your child is dropped for any reason, you will need to re-enroll your child with the Cambrian School District.
Avoid Tardies
Being on time to school is a great way to start the day (students do not like walking into class late). Please avoid tardies at all costs. Gates open at 8:05 am, and close (and lock) at 8:15 am when the instructional day begins. After 8:15 am, everyone must check in through the school office, and students will walk themselves to class.
Important Information From The Health & Attendance Office
School Absences:
If your child will be absent or tardy, please call the automated 24 hour attendance line before the school day begins. Absences not cleared will be recorded as a truancy. Farnham's 24 hour automated attendance line is 408-377-3321 EXT 4102.
Medical Updates And Medications For 2025-2026 School Year:
Please provide updated medical forms for children with medical concerns and medication requirements for the 2025-2026 school year. The forms are available on the Cambrian District website's Enrollment Page. Please bring the updated and signed form(s), along with the medication, to the Health Office when school begins. A medication authorization form is required for both prescription and over-the-counter medicines. All medication must be in the original container, labeled by the pharmacist, with clear instructions for administration. O-T-C medications must be new in the sealed packaging.
Safety Guidelines When Dropping Off & Picking Up Students
It Works Best when Everyone Works Together!
The main drop-off and pick-up areas are in the front of the school (the loop) on Woodard Ave, and in the parking lot. Both options are drop off and pick-up only. NO parking is allowed. Do NOT leave your car unattended.
The left lane in the loop is for passing only. The lane closest to the white curb is for drop-off and pick-up ONLY.
Students should be prepared ahead of time to exit the vehicle at drop-off.
Pull all the way forward, stay in your car, and allow your child to exit or enter curbside as quickly as possible.
Be Kind & Considerate
The parking lot is for teachers and staff ONLY. We have many staff members that arrive at various times throughout the day.
Student safety during drop off is provided by staff and student leadership. Please respect our helpers.
It is your responsibility to slow down, observe all stop signs, obey the crossing guard, and keep an eye out for children’s safety.
Use sidewalks and crosswalks ONLY. Please teach your child to NOT walk through the parking lot or through the loop from the inner lane.
Do not block neighbor driveways EVER.
It is against the law to park in a space designated for disabled persons (if you do not have a placard), or park in front of a curb painted red or yellow. Violators will be ticketed, towed, and/or reported to police.
IF YOU CAN, WALK YOUR CHILD TO SCHOOL! Park on the street in the neighborhood and walk with your child to school. It's quality time with your child, a great way for students to get their wiggles out, and an opportunity to get to know other parents.
Teachers will greet students at the classroom from 8:05-8:15 am. For safety, our playgrounds are off-limits before school. Please remind your child and help keep them off the playground. Parents are expected to leave campus by 8:15am. FOR EVERYONE'S SAFETY, PLEASE CLOSE THE GATE WHEN YOU LEAVE.
A NOTE FROM YOUR HSC BOARD:
We've kicked off this 2025-26 school year and we hope you will join us for the Back to School BBQ on Friday, August 15, from 4-7pm at Hogue Park for some food and fun (see flyer for details).
We hope you will also join us for our first Home and School Club meeting on August 19 at 6:30pm in the library where we will be discussing this year's budget and our plans for this upcoming year. Everyone is welcome to join, and if you can't, drop us a note at farnhamhsc@gmail.com with any feedback or ideas. Looking forward to getting to know many of you this year!

THE CITY OF SAN JOSE, BIKE RODEO
September 4th, after school is the SJDoT’s Bike Rodeo program. This is optional and requires parental/guardian presence/supervision. This event will take place from 3:00-4:00 pm on our back playground.
A bike rodeo is a bicycle skills event which provides an opportunity for bicyclists to practice and develop skills that will help them to become better bicyclists and avoid typical crashes.
No permission slip is needed, but we do require that a parent or guardian be present during the time that their child(ren) are participating. Students need to bring their own bike and helmet. If they do not have a helmet, we will have a limited supply on hand to provide for these students.
Please RSVP through this link: https://forms.gle/LA7WywrrWYMfkJyYA. You can also sign up your student on arrival at the bike rodeo. However, the RSVP list gives the program leads an idea of how many students will be participating.
Program Flier: English | Spanish | Vietnamese
