World Downs Syndrome Day

Our students enjoyed participating in World Downs Syndrome Day today. There were many pairs of mismatched socks being Rocked at school and classroom discussions about the importance of including others even when they look or act different from us. All people are human beings and deserve to be included in our world. Our world is a better place when we look for the assets in others recognizing that we have more in common than our differences.

Kid's Heart Challenge and Get Fit!

March is looking to be a busy month for PE! We will be finishing up our badminton unit this week, followed by cardio and jump roping activities to wrap up the final weeks before spring break!

Students will be sent home with information regarding the Kid’s Heart Program through the American Heart Association. This is an optional fundraiser, but our PE department can earn an equipment gift certificate by half of our students simply creating an account (which does not require fundraising). On the account, students can learn important skills such as hands-only CPR and other valuable information. If you choose, you can create an account by clicking the link HERE.

In addition to the Kid’s Heart Challenge, your student can also participate in the “Get Fit” program through the MN Lynx. This is a free program to encourage students to be active! By earning 25 points, students will receive 1 free ticket into a regular season home game. Students earn points through being active outside of school. Students will be sent home with a flyer, but you can also find the flyer attached HERE.
