PADDOCK ROAD ARRIVAL AND DISMISSAL
One Team. One Dream. ALL IN.
ARRIVAL PROCEDURES
Morning Arrival Procedures
π Morning Drop-Off (Front of the Building)
- Adult supervision begins at 8:05 a.m. Students may enter the building beginning at 8:05 a.m. Classrooms open at 8:20 a.m.
- Please use the designated drop-off lane marked by cones in the front drive.
- For the safety of everyone, students should only enter or exit vehicles while your vehicle is within the coned drop-off zone.
- Pull all the way forward before stopping so we can maximize the number of vehicles unloading at one time.
- Once vehicles have come to a complete stop, students may exit.
- After your child has safely exited, please pull forward and exit the drive promptly to keep traffic moving.
Beginning at 8:20 a.m., the connection door will close. Any students arriving after that time should be dropped off at the front entrance and enter through the main doors.
π« Student Arrival (8:05β8:20 a.m.)
Students arriving between 8:05 and 8:20 a.m. will enter through the connection door (between the original building and the addition) and report directly to the gym. Students will sit with their grade level until dismissed to class.
π. Breakfast
- Breakfast is served from 8:10β8:30 a.m.
- Students waiting in the gym will be dismissed together to the cafeteria for breakfast.
- Students arriving after 8:10 a.m. who plan to eat breakfast should enter through the connection door and proceed directly to the cafeteria.
π Student Arrival Information
Our instructional day begins promptly at 8:30 a.m. β° We want every student to begin the day feeling prepared, connected, and ready to learn!
To support a smooth start, the building opens to students at 8:20 a.m. πͺ This 10-minute arrival window gives students time to walk to their classroom, unpack their belongings π, connect with classmates and their teacher π€, and settle in before instruction begins. We encourage all families to plan for students to arrive by 8:20 a.m. so they can take full advantage of this important transition time.
π Morning Supervision
Adult supervision begins at 8:05 a.m.
For student safety, please do not drop students off before 8:05 a.m. unless they are:
- π« Participating in a school-sponsored activity
- π¦Ί Serving on Safety Patrol
- π©βπ« Meeting with a teacher
- β Enrolled in Club 66 Before School Care
Between 8:05 and 8:20 a.m., students will report to gym or breakfast until classrooms open at 8:20.
π‘ Why does supervision begin at 8:05 a.m.?
Before 8:05 a.m., our staff is busy preparing for an amazing day of learning through collaborative planning, professional learning, and classroom preparation. Because student supervision is not available before 8:05 a.m., we ask families to avoid dropping students off earlier unless they are participating in one of the approved activities listed above.

DISMISSAL PROCEDURES
Afternoon Dismissal Procedures
To help ensure a safe and efficient dismissal for all students, please follow the procedures below based on your child's dismissal plan.
π Front Pick-Up Lane (West Side of the Building)
Our front pick-up lane is designed as a stay-in-your-vehicle loading zone.
- A left turn into the drive lane from Paddock Road is not permitted from 3:20-3:40. Mr. Kock will be outside to help direct traffic. See the map below for an alternate route if traveling south on Paddock Road. This is a change in our procedures.
- Enter the front drive and pull as far forward as possible.
- Please park along the left side of the pick-up lane as directed by staff.
- Remain in your vehicle at all times.
- A staff member will come to your vehicle and ask for your student's name.
- Students will be called to the loading zone and assisted into vehicles.
- Once your child is safely in the vehicle, please exit promptly to keep traffic moving.
π Back Parking Lot Pick-Up (East Side of the Building)
Families may also choose to pick up students in the back parking lot, which is supervised by staff and is often less congested than the front drive.
- Enter the parking lot slowly and park in an available parking space.
- Students will come to your vehicle only after it is parked.
- Staff will assist students and signal when it is safe to cross the drive lanes.
- After your child is safely in your vehicle, follow the one-way (counter-clockwise) traffic pattern when exiting the lot.
- Please drive slowly and watch carefully for pedestrians.
Please Note: The back parking lot is available for afternoon pick-up only. There is no morning student supervision or drop-off in this area.
πΆ. Rocket Park Pick-Up
Families meeting students at Rocket Park should follow these procedures:
- Students will exit the building and use the south crosswalk with Safety Patrol members and adult supervision to cross Paddock Road.
- Families should meet students after they have safely crossed the street.
- For student safety, do not have students cross directly from the north side of the school to Rocket Park. There is no designated crosswalk in that location.
πΆββοΈ Students Walking Home
Students walking home are expected to:
- Use Safety Patrol and designated crosswalks when crossing streets.
- Walk with classmates whenever possible.
- Stay on sidewalks and avoid walking in the street.
- Respect our neighbors by staying out of yards and not touching, disturbing, or damaging private property.
β°. Late Pick-Up
- Students who have not been picked up by the designated time will be escorted to the front office for pick-up at the main entrance.
- Late pick-up begins:
- Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday: 3:40 p.m.
- Wednesday (Early Dismissal): 3:10 p.m.
- If a student is brought to the office, school staff will contact the family or emergency contacts listed in PowerSchool.
Please note: Once students are brought to the office, they are no longer under active after-school supervision. This time is designated for teacher planning, staff meetings, and other end-of-day responsibilities. While office staff will assist with student dismissal, late pick-up should be an occasional occurrence rather than a regular dismissal plan. We appreciate your partnership in ensuring students are picked up on time whenever possible.
DISMISSAL PLANS
Afterschool Plans
Please remember after school plans should be made in the morning. Students are expected to go directly home and be off school grounds by 3:45 pm. Students going home with another child after school should make plans ahead of time and communicate with your student's teacher in advance.
Don't forget to notify the school if there is an unexpected change of after school plans for your child. If you know in the morning, a note to the teacher is always appreciated. We appreciate your cooperation in making sure your child is safe.
Approving a Child to Go Home with Another Child's Parent:
In the event that you would like to approve your child to go home with another child's parent we need contact from both you and the other child's parent. This can be in the form of a note, email, or phone call to the office. Staff will not dismiss your child to another child's parent without prior contact, preferably to the main office so that this can be communicated to others (Classroom Teacher, Club 66, etc).
