Welcome Back

Welcome back everyone! I know how bittersweet it is to be back, but I will hopefully be able to reduce anxiety by sharing some updates & reminders with Google, a TouchView Panel training plan, and a few helpful tips. Let's jump in and do this!

Calendar with Blocks

Are you like me and never can remember the time of each block every day? If so, add the CCHS Calendar with blocks to YOUR Google Calendar. Simply click the link and add it! You can turn it on and off by checking and unchecking the CCHS Bell Schedule Calendar on the left menu inside Google Calendar. I personally keep it off until I need it 😜

The Reflection Connection

No algorithm or AI assistant can build a relationship. Before the curriculum sprints off at full speed, take a moment to reflect on how you get to know your students in these first few weeks. Is it a low-stakes interest survey? A quick one-on-one check-in at the door? Observing who they sit with, or who they are hesitant to talk to?

Why spend precious class time on this when there’s content to cover? Because trust is the ultimate prerequisite. When students know you see them as an individual, not just any new student, they take bigger intellectual risks, bounce back faster from mistakes, and actually want to engage.

Tech can enhance learning, but connection powers it.

What is one small, intentional way you are learning a non-academic detail about each student to start the year?
