Senior Future Planning Night Zoom Link (Thursday, September 23) and MCAS Information for Seniors

Dear 12th-grade students and families,

The Guidance department looks forward to seeing you this Thursday, September 23 for our Senior Future Planning Night. This event will provide information about what to expect during the college search and application process this fall. This event will be held on Zoom; please use this link to join the Zoom meeting at 6:30 PM on Thursday.

I would also like to remind you of the modified competency determination and MCAS requirements for students in the class of 2022. Students in the class of 2022 will not need to take the ELA, Math, or Science MCAS in order to graduate in June as long as they have passed and demonstrated competency in equivalent courses in English, Math, and Science.

Should seniors be interested in qualifying for the Stanley Z. Koplik Certificate of Mastery or John & Abigail Adams Scholarship, they will need to take the MCAS tests if they did not do so last Spring. These awards provide a tuition credit to eligible students at Massachusetts state universities. For more information on these awards, including score requirements, please visit the links provided above.

Seniors wishing to take the MCAS in an attempt to qualify for these awards must notify their school counselor by Wednesday, September 29 in order to be registered for the November tests. The Math test will be given on November 9 & 10 and the ELA test will be given on November 16 & 17.

Please be in touch with any questions.

I hope to see you on Thursday evening at 6:30PM!

Be well,

Adrienne Eaton
